CURRENT APPLICATIONS

SPV systems used for innovation applications

such as wireless communication in defence.

SPV systems has become a major source for

smaller applications for street lightings,

schools, television, radio, hospitals, agricultural drying, pumping water.

SPV power plants to meet domestic electrical

energy needs in rural areas.

ADVANTAGES

Solar power from SPV system and solar concentrating system is

produced in environmental friendly manner.

Does not generate any waste or pollution.

Meets the energy requirement in domestic sector in decentralized

manner quite efficiently.

Best suited for off grid application in stand alone mode.

India is blessed with abundant solar insulation for about 250 days in

an year.

Potential source for exploitation. Most efficient when operates in integrated mode.

NATIONAL RATING SYSTEM - GRIHA

Taking into account the provisions of the NationalBuilding Code 2005, The Energy Conservation

Building Code 2007 and other IS Codes, local bye-

laws TERI has developed a rating system which:

Operates on a 100 point marking system throughvarious qualitative and quantitative assessment

criteria

A building with 70 to 80 points get 3 star rating

A building with 81-90 points get 4 star rating.
