Parent Information Sheet Preschool VBS: June 12-16

Epiphany Lutheran Church

We are excited to offer a VBS exclusively for preschoolers. All of our ministry is designed with their energy level, learning style and creativity in mind! This targeted ministry is for toilet trained preschoolers age 3 (by August 1st) through kindergarten graduates each morning, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 to 11:45 AM.

Registration is $20 per child and the deadline to register and be assured to receive a t-shirt, is June 4th. You are welcome to register online (www.epiphany-lutheran.com/registration) or by dropping forms off in person or through the mail to 268 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Please be sure to include your child’s t-shirt size at the bottom of the registration form. Children will receive a t-shirt, a music CD and a set of Bible Buddies to help you extend the learning WAY beyond our week together.

If there is one friend or Crew Helper your child NEEDS to be with, please indicate this on the registration form. However, please trust us, no matter what group your child is in they will make great friends and have a wonderful week learning about God. If there is someone who should not pick your child up from VBS, please make us aware of that situation as well.

Our high school youth are taking a mission trip again this summer to offer Maker Fun Factory for a community that cannot afford it on their own. This has been a tremendous ministry to their community for over 10 years now and they are excited about our return. If you would be willing to donate $20 (or any donation) to pay for one child’s week of VBS, please include a check made out to Epiphany (with Mission Trip in the memo line) along with your registration. In addition any snack food items you are willing to bring in will go to this mission trip. Thanks to you, kids in Bellaire, Ohio will learn how they too are created by God for a purpose!

On FRIDAY night, June 16th, we are hosting a “Maker Fun Fest” party. Your children will be leading us in their favorite songs, sharing with us the Bible verses, and shouting out every time they hear the point of the day. We will view a slide show of each day of our week and give you a chance to see first hand the learning and fun that your child has been sharing in. Please join us from 6:00—8:00 PM.

All week long we will be collecting an offering to show our appreciation for all God has given us. This year's offering will go to the Bed Brigade, a ministry of St. John's Lutheran Church, Grove City, Ohio. It is a ministry that builds and delivers beds in the greater Columbus area, mostly for children. These beds are free of charge and given to families who are in need. It is tragic how many children don’t have a bed. With our funds, that won’t be the case for the near future! To see a video of this ministry search YouTube for “The St. John’s Bed Brigade”.

We want your child to be safe! Please sign them in at our registration tables before VBS begins and then take them into the sanctuary and place them with their small group leaders. Our volun-teers will be there to guide you through this step. It works best if you arrive AT LEAST 10 minutes before VBS begins. After VBS is over, please sign your child out at the same registration table and pick your child up from the same small group row, so our leaders know they are in your care.

Perhaps the best way for your family to experience the week is to join us in ministry as a small group helper. There is nothing to prepare ahead of time! All you do is travel with your small group of 6-8 kids and a few helpers to each station and enjoy the fun along with your group. It is fun, it involves no preparation, and it is very meaningful to invest your life in others! We think this week will be a highlight of your summer and we even have a nursery for your younger children to help free up your time.
