Since the forest school had a
tidy up during half term, lots of
classes have had the
opportunity to go outside and
enjoy having their lessons out of
doors.
The year 6 filmed part of the
remembrance video out there,
and then enjoyed toasting
some marshmallows over the
fire pit!
(Miss Tyrrell and Miss Finch enjoyed
them to!)

Layla Potter and The Prisoner of Leehurst Swan. Chapter 2
It was pretty obvious that people wanted the new teacher to be good because they
were bouncing up and down on the balls of their feet.
The new teacher was very smiley, so Layla, Lara and Rachel liked the look of her. The new
teacher sat next to Simmonite, the games keeper, the keeper of the keys and the care
for magical creatures teacher.
Once the head of Griffindor, Professor Baylis, had handed out all the timetables they
realised their first lesson was with Professor Tyrrell, the new teacher. “We’ve still got old
Professor Gibbons though” groaned Rachel Weasley.
“The one lesson we have every day is divination with Professor Ventham” ranted Lara.
“Hey, it says that I’ve got extra lessons with Professor Elworthy” groaned Layla.
To be continued……

Wednesday 7th November 2018 Leehurst Swan -1 Moyles Court- 3 Scorer - Charlie Man of the Match- Charlie, great play! The U9s played really well against a well organised opposition. Apart from the first few minutes when LHS found themselves 3-0 down. Led by team captain, Piers, LHS went on the attack, after settling down and getting used to the pitch and each other. For a full 10 minutes the opposition were pinned down in their own half, defending well to stop LHS from getting a goal. Then a pass from Rufus, to Monty, who found Charlie, who fired and scored the goal to bring LHS back into the game, With lots of attacking, and many more shots on goal, it was a wonder that LHS had not taken the lead. Zayan, has a couple of shots saved, Charlie hit the post, Monty watched his shot 'flash' across the goal line. John, and Fergus, kept the defence tight so no opposition came near Ethan, the LHS goalkeeper. Half time 1-3 The second half was again one-way traffic, with LHS trying to get those two goals back to level the score. Zayan, causing lots of problems as the LHS striker, with Charlie, Piers, Rufus, and Monty, all attacking trying to score. The opposition goalie playing out of his skin to keep his team in the lead. Fergus, John, and Ethan, making sure that no counter attack worked, and they gave the ball back to our attackers, to shoot and hit the bar, and posts With time running out, the whistle blew and LHS failed to get the draw, or even the win, they deserved. A big thank you to all the parents and family members who came to watch and support.

Leehurst Swan Under 11 V.S Moyles Court Under 11
On Wednesday afternoon the Under 11’s played Moyles Court at football. The Under 11 boys had a good half term break and were hungry to get in to a match. Leehurst started very positively moving the ball quickly and confidently, after a few minutes we broke the deadlock with a goal scored by George. After the kick off, Leehurst pressed high up and received the ball in the final 3rd and managed to score a goal through Oli, he finished with great confidence. Some great confident play in the first half saw us score another 6 goals courtesy of George, Wilf who scored 2 and Neave who played very well and also grabbed a goal with a clinical finish in the bottom left corner. We went in to half time 6-0 up. In the second half we started confidently, but Moyles grew in to the game and gain confidence scoring 2 goals in quick time. Leehurst grabbed another 2 goals one from a set piece from a throw in which saw Harry hit a volley sweetly which saw the ball rocket in to the top corner and George finished calmly and confidently to grab his 3rd goal which completed his hattrick. Moyles gaining more confidence all the time started playing some excellent football, grabbed another 2 goals in quick succession. This saw the score at 8-4. Growing in confidence and having the momentum Moyles put pressure on Leehurst and were get chance after chance after chance, which saw them grab another 2 goals. Which made the score 8-6. A corner ball was given to Moyles and from this set piece they scored another making the score 8-7, could this be the best come back in football history. After a few attacks and nerves flying around, stood tall and confident was Ethan, who made an outstanding save in the dying minutes to give his team victory. An impressive performance by all which showed a lot of character from everyone who played. The most pleasing thing was to see everyone who has been a part of the football squad improving all the time and gaining confidence with their play. MOM George for grabbing a hattrick.

On Friday 16th all the children headed down
to the FOLS Christmas fair. They had fun
exploring the stalls, taking part in games
