After opening Photoshop, I uploaded the picture of my college into the programme as I will be using this picture as my front cover background.

I then opened “Blending options” in “Layer style” so that I could make the image less opaque, this means that any text put on top of the image will be visible and easy to read and I still have my original image.

I then opened “Toggle the character and paragraphs panel” this opened the small box on the right of my magazine cover. This box allows me to edit text on my magazine. It controls fonts, colour, spacing, sizes and other small details to make the magazine more professional. With this I added a mast head and a kicker.

Using the “Toggle the character and paragraph panel” I was able to add headers using different fonts and colours. I stuck to the purple based theme as it is the primary colour of my college.
