Children learnt about the form and function of the different modes of water

transport through pictures and audio-visuals. They were taken a step further

by talking about the associated professionals and their services.

. To enhance their vocabulary, an audio video was shown to talk about dock,

port, anchor and light house

. Children painted the cutouts of water transport vehicles for the class display.

Children learnt that water flows in the carved path to make connection with

the term: voyage. To learn about this fact, they performed an experiment in

the school field. Paths of variable widths and shapes were created on the

ground. Children poured water in the carved path and made an observation

on how water takes its own course.

Phonic sound of letter S was done through Finger Phonics.

Letter recognition and phonic drill also was done

Children could produce many words with initial sound of S. Such as: sea,

sail, star, snow, snake, sailor

. Letter S formation was done with the help of play dough, sand box writing

and sand letter writing

New vocabulary– Dock, port, anchor, light house, sailor, row, oars

Rhymes– Yellow submarine, nav chali(H), Mr. Golden Sun, walking through

the forest, Row row row your boat, ek choti kashti mere pass(H).

Dear Parents,

This is to inform you that Pathways School Gurgaon is buzzing with thrill and

excitement as the preparations have started for the upcoming Math Fest

scheduled for 7th and 8th of April 2016. It is an in-house event where students

would be participating in various mind blowing engagements

Suggested activity-

Encourage your child to understand the concept of float / sink under your

supervision by experimenting with a variety of collected objects and immerse

them one by one in a tub of water.
