WHAT IS ACHIEVEMENT ?

Your desires are coming from an influence outside of you.

Because circumstances are not inside, circumstances are all around in which you are there, so desire comes from some place outside

of you and you start chasing that desire. And when you get it, you call it ‘my’

achievement.






For example - Desires like getting a

particular degree, a particular job or a

particular salary are all desires which you

derive from society and you start chasing

that desire like your own.

Are they really your desire?

If they are not your desires then how

can it be your achievement?






DO ALL DESIRES COME FROM

OUTSIDE ?

Even your smallest of desires come from external influences.

For example – Your desire of having a pizza

may be induced by a nice smell or aroma

of a freshly baked pizza inside a mall or by

watching an advertisement of a pizza on

television.






SO ASK YOURSELF…






If somebody else has the power to

make you work according to their

wish, then are you the master or

the slave ?




Can a slave achieve anything

or

is the command of the master

that he/she is following ?






How intelligent it would be to call the

desires as ‘my desires’ which are

conditioned by the society upon you ?








SO, DOES EVERTHING IMPOSED UPON US ARE FROM EXTERNAL

INFLUENCES ?

There are also influences which we call

as internal, that is, our self or our

mind

but that are also external.






What is SELF… ?

Our desire to be accepted and respected

by the society around us which reflects our

ego, which comes from external

influences.






Our urge to be accepted and respected

by the society and our mind are purely

a product of conditioning which has

been imposed on us since childhood .






SO , IS THERE ANYTHING APART FROM EXTERNAL INFLUENCE ?

Firstly, you need to see that what you believe is ‘yours ‘,is it really ‘yours’ or somebody else’s!

Once you come to understand what is happening ‘right now ‘, then the path to

future opens by itself.






Look at the things around you. Does those things infuse desires in you ?

Think intelligently without getting overpowered by the external influences.




What you call as ‘your mind’ or ‘your desire’,

has been created through all the inputs that has been conditioned into you since

your childhood and then you call it as ‘my achievement’.








A mind and a life

dependent on society is as

good as

SLEEPWALKING






DOES ACHIEVEMENT GIVES US

HAPPINESS ?

If achievement is an external influence then

how can happiness is yours!

When the master is somebody else and you are acting as a slave then that happiness is

worthless and is just an illusion created by your mind.






So, as an intelligent human being you

should understand that where am I

investing my whole life, chasing this

whole business of achievement.
