Couponing 101 Lesson 3Coupon
Organization
Organizing Your CouponsPeople organize their coupon in
many different ways.◦Whole Insert Organization◦Coupon Binders◦Coupon File Boxes• Each person is different and needs to
find the method that works best for them.
• You will probably try many different methods before you find what works best for you.
Whole Insert Method Gather your
whole inserts and write the date on the front of the inserts.
Organize them by date order.
Clip the coupons only as you need them.
Whole Insert Method

Whole Insert Method
Jenny at SouthernSavers.com recommends using the accordion file method.Click here to view the video if it doesn’t automatically come up for you.
Binder Method The binder method
involved cutting out all your coupons and storing them in a binder.
You can order baseball card three ring holders to store your coupons.
The binder can be taken with you into stores when you shop.
Binder Method If you are going to clip all
your coupons and use a the binder method, make sure you choose a sturdy binder.
Choose a binder that zips completely and has a sturdy strap. It is horrible to have all your hard work fall in the parking lot and blow away!
Make sure you have included your name, address and phone number in your binder in case it is ever accidentally left in the cart or on top of the car. (Yep, it happens!)
Box MethodYou can also cut
out all your coupons and organize them in a coupon box.
This same method can apply for baskets, etc.
You choose how the coupons are organized.
Box MethodMy personal favorite coupon box
is found on a website called Refund Cents. This is the box that I use. The box sits down in the seat of the shopping cart and is extremely sturdy. You can purchase it at refundcents.com.
It’s currently $19.90.
Binder Method Jenny with
Southernsavers.com offers some helpful information regarding the binder and box methods.

Hybrid MethodI think most people use a mix of each
method, depending on their particular situation.
I use the whole insert method, organized by date. If I have loose coupons (peelies, tear pads, etc), I store those in a coupon box that is organized by category. I also use a coupon binder that holds all the coupons I have planned to use on a particular shopping trip. My binder also includes a copy of the most up to date coupon policy for each store I shop and the store’s current ad.
What to bring with you when shopping There are a few items that
are very helpful to have with you when you are coupon shopping, besides your coupons! ◦ Your smart phone (can use as
calculator, portable coupon database, stock up price list reference)
◦ Current store ad - If you get the local Sunday/Wednesday newspapers, you will always have the current copies.
◦ Printout of store’s coupon policy
◦ Scissors◦ Pen◦ Store Layout – usually found
in front of store or customer service
