CONTENT:-

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) was set up on 9th November 1967

It is a public sector enterprise. The major activities of HCL are exploration mining, concentration, smelting, refining, and casting of finished copper metal into saleable products.

In concluded financial year 2006-07, as per provisional estimates, the Company has earned a all time highest net profit Rs 331 crore against a sales turnover of Rs 1800 crore.

INTRODUCTION:-

HCL is situated in the cradle of arawali hills in jhunjhunu

11 km north-east of khetri town.

380 meter above sea level.

Average rainfall is 500 mm per year.

GENERAL LOCATION:-

Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) at Khetrinagar, Rajasthan 

Indian Copper Complex (ICC) at Ghatsila, Jharkhand

Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP) at Malanjkhand, Madhya Pradesh

 Taloja Copper Project (TCP) at Taloja, Maharashtra

Gujarat Copper Project (GCP) at Jhagadia, Gujarat

UNITS OF HCL:-

KHETRI COPPER COMPLEX(KCC)

Capacity 1.0 million tonnes of ore per annum. Process plants to produce 31,000 TPA of refined copper

It transports copper ore from Kolihan to Khetri plant.

There are 55 tower and 6 substation.

Total length of rope way is 15 km.

There are 65 buckets and capacity of each buckets is 1 tonne.

Maximum speed of rope is 2.8 m/s.

Minimum speed of rope is 1.4 m/s.

Rope is drive with the help of 280 HP motor.

COPPER ORE BELT CONVEYOR:-

Grinding is done in the Ball Mills and Rod Mills.

After grinding ore is forward for Forth Flotation.

BALL MILL:-

Ball mill are driven by a 920kw, 200rpm, 3.3kv synchronous motor.

The diameter of ball varies from 1”to 1.5”.

Maximum output of ball mill is 200MT/hour

Ball mill are driven by a 920kw, 200rpm, 3.3kv synchronous motor.

Length of rod is 17 feet.

Weight of rod is 27T

ORE AFTER GRINGING:-

FORTH FLOTATION SECTION:-

From cyclone concentrate mixture goes to blower.

Two liquids are used in blowing these are.

1. Zenithal:-It is used to collect impurity.

2. Pine Oil:-It is used for motion of forth

FORTH FLOTATION SECTION:-

There are four KIRLOSKAR compressors and one is CAMERON compressor.

Compressor house provides compressed air to the mines to drive different pneumatic motors.

This is also makes mines place workable.

COMPRESSOR HOUSE:-

In Mining Machine Repair (MMR) shop, the pneumatic motors are repaired which are used in mines.

Assembly of pneumatic motors.

Repairing of loaders.
