To manufacture superior liquid coatings for the transportation

markets, PPG combines technical expertise and best practices from its automotive

OEM, automotive refinish, architectural and industrial coatings businesses. The

result is a full array of colorful, corrosion-resistant coating systems that protect and beautify steel, aluminum,

plastic, coil coatings, trailer sidings and virtually every

surface of a finished vehicle.

PPG has been credited with almost every major innovation

in electrocoat systems since first pioneering the technology in the 1960’s. Recognized as the world’s

best integrator of electrocoat with other technologies, PPG’s products fill the majority of the electrocoat tanks in the world. PPG provides the ultimate in corrosion and UV protection

with one- and two-coat products for specialty frames, chassis and under-body parts.

PPG powder coatings are formulated for applications

that require the ultimate combination of corrosion resistance, weathering

Solvent-based SPECTRACRON® coatings

encompass primers and topcoats in alkyd-, urethane-,

epoxy- and acrylic-based formulations. AQUACRON®

coatings offer the same, durable primers and topcoats

but in water-based formulations with ultra-low VOC.

POWERCRON® electrocoats provide superior edge coverage

and are topcoat friendly. This industry-leading product

delivers uniform film build, color consistency and high yield

rates. Powercron is available in environmentally responsible,

ultra-low VOC and heavy-metal / HAP-free formulations. Whether you choose to use e-coat as a primer or as a

one-coat, stand-alone finish, Powercron coatings are the most cost effective finish for

your products.

For decades, ENVIROCRON® and ENVIRACRYL® powder

coatings have set the standard for performance and technology

in the automotive OEM and transportation markets. With

epoxy, acrylic, TGIC and non-TGIC polyesters, urethanes

and advanced hybrids, these coatings offer a complete

selection of environmentally progressive, thermosetting

chemistries featuring reduced bake times and temperatures,

lower film build and other critical performance properties.

A variety of pretreatments are available including zirconium-

based, environmentally compliant, low sludge

producing ZIRCOBOND®, X-BOND®  and the

ULTRAGUARD series of iron phosphate and cleaner coater pretreatments which

combine hard surface cleaning and pretreatment in one

step. Other products include CORASHIELD® anti-chip underbody coatings and

AUDIOGUARD® sprayable sound-dampening systems.
