PPD Secretariat Building Complex – a glance

Partners in Population and Development (PPD) is an international inter-governmental organization of 26 developing countries from across Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America representing nearly 60% of the world population. PPD is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has Permanent Observer Status at the UN General Assembly and Diplo-matic Status in Geneva and in Bangladesh. PPD has a : • Regional Office in Kampala-Uganda• Program Office in Taicang-China• Liaison Office to the UN in New York and Bangkok • Diplomatic Mission in Geneva-Switzerland.

PPD is the only international inter-govern-mental organization with its headquarters located in a developing country, Bangladesh. Hosting the headquarters of this prestigious organization, the Government of Bangladesh has generously donated land in Sher-E-Ban-gla Nagar for constructing PPD’s Secretariat Building Complex.

The PPD building is located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar within a government classified admi-nistrative zone, the master plan of which was designed by Mr. Louis Isadore Kahn, the inter-nationally acclaimed legendary American Architect.PPD Secretariat will be housed amidst selec-ted government offices, the UN Building, ADB and World Bank Offices, and the Bangladesh Parliament.
