WHY CHOOSE SPANISH AS AN
OPTION?
WHY LEARN SPANISH?
SPANISH, SPANISH EVERWHERE!
With 400 million speakers, Spanish
is the fourth most commonly
spoken language in the world.
Only Mandarin, English and Hindi
have more speakers
If you count only native
speakers, Spanish outranks
English.
Spanish is an official language
on four continents and is the
mother tongue in 21 countries.
The sheer number of Spanish
speakers and their rate of
growth makes learning Spanish a
smart choice!
LEARNING SPANISH WILL HELP YOUR
CAREER
With such a large Spanish population
in America and expanding Latin
American economies, employers are
in need of people who speak Spanish
Big businesses are realizing the
importance of trade with Latin
America and companies everywhere
are expanding there.
TRAVEL
Native Spanish speakers live in some of
the most interesting destinations in the
world.
Venezuela, for example, has the
longest Caribbean sea coastline of
any nation.
Visit Peru, where Paddington came
from!
Of course, there’s Spain and the
wonderful cities of Madrid and
Barcelona. Seville, where you see
oranges growing on trees when walking
down the street ……
IMPROVE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF
ENGLISH
Much of the vocabulary of English has
Latin origins. Studying Spanish will give
you a better understanding of English
vocabulary.
Learning another language helps your
understanding of English grammar,
especially the tenses.
IT’S FUN!
It’s great to experiment with a different
accent and try to sound as Spanish as
possible and it can build confidence.

Opening Lines
• It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.
• It was a bright cold day in April and the clocks were striking thirteen.
• If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born and what my lousy childhood was like.
• Hale knew before he had been in Brighton three hours, that they meant to murder him.
