• It’s another way to keep track of counting!

Arches on a number line

A great way to keep track of your counting on a number line is to use arches to mark the start and end of your counting.

Arches on a number line

• Starting with you pencil on zero, draw an arch counting up to the first number in the equation

• Starting from that number, count up the number line and create another arch up to the second number

• The number where your pencil lands is the answer to your addition equation! 8
