CATS: AN ART EXHIBITMarch 2nd - May 18th

The exhibit views felines through the eyes of painters, photographers, sculptors, a quilter and

mixed media artists. This is the second of our series of exhibits focusing on animals as subjects of art.

MEMOIR WRITING WITH COLLEEN PETERSWednesday, April 4th6:30 PMWriters will be guided on how to revive and relate past stories and lifestyles, leaving valuable histories to their families. Please bring a pencil, pen and notebooks.Instructor: Colleen Peters, former newswoman and freelance writer. The series runs from April 4th through May 23rd. FRIENDS BOOK SALESaturday, April 14th 9:00 AM – 3:00 PMThe Friends book sales are held six times a year, generally, on the first Saturday of the month in the lower level meeting rooms. If you are a member of the Friends, you are also eligible to attend an “early bird” sale on the afternoon before the main book sales, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

CELEBRATE EARTH DAY WITH TOM SMALL AND THE WILD ONESSunday, April 22nd2:00PM Age Group: ADULTSTom Small will join with some of the illustrators for his and Nancy Small’s book, Using Native Plants to Restore Community in Southwest Michigan and Beyond, to speak about the art of restoring the endangered native communities of plants, insects, and birds to our landscapes. The program will include an art exhibit of some of the 175 drawings, etchings, and woodcuts in the book. The book will be available for sale and a book signing and r e c e p - tion will follow the program. The event i s co-sponsored by Kalamazoo Area

Wild Ones, and the Kalamazoo Nature Center. Members

of both organiza-tions will be on hand
