Tug Haven The new tug haven will be located at the harbour entrance.

New Tugs •  22  tugs,  self-­‐contained  maintenance,  fuel  supply  and  administraHon  

in  cyclone  rated  facility.  

•  Larger  85t  rotor  tug  fleet  will  offer  improved  towage  operaHons  for  confined  space  operaHons  in  SW  Creek,  risk  management,  towage  vessel  capability,  escort  towage,  redundancy  etc.

PHPA’s Common User Utah Berth •  Largest  shipment  -­‐  ‘Duhallow’  –  120,300t  (July  2012)  

•  Record  month  –  August  2012-­‐  1,171,488t  

•  All  customers  are  gedng  allocaHon  or  above  

•  360  trucks  per  day  hauling  to  the  facility  during  peak  Hmes.  

•  100%  Cavotec  usage  on  all  vessels  to  berth

The Need for Lumsden Point •  Currently  reaching  capacity  on  Berths  1,  2  and  3  for  exports  of  Copper  and  Salt.  

•  Currently  reaching  capacity  on  Berths  1,  2  and  3  in  imports  of  fuel,  Ammonium  Nitrate  and  project  cargo.  

•  MOF  faciliHes  at  Anderson  Point  (FMG).  

•  New  MOF  at  Finucane  Island  including  contract  loud  facility  (as  part  of  tug  pen  development).

Non Iron Ore Trade Growth •  General  cargo  acHvity  linked  to  exports  –  Department  of  

Transport  esHmates  this  at  1  –  1.5%  of  throughput.  

•  Cargo  forecast,  including  general  cargo,  to  grow  from  4.9mtpa  in  2011/12  to  9.2mtpa  2016/17.  

•  Capacity  of  6.3-­‐6.5mtpa  at  exisHng  berths  to  be  reached  in  2012/13.  

•  Significant  congesHon  of  the  berths  expected  beyond  this  Hmeframe.  

•  Growth  in  export  berths  has  not  been  matched  by  growth  in  general  cargo  berths.
