Hello and a big warm welcome to the autumn season at Polka Theatre. It showcases Polka at its best – bold, magical and above all entertaining!

Blasting off the new season, Polka will be heading into space for a thrilling journey of discovery. We

have teamed up with the acclaimed Unlimited Theatre to bring you Mission to Mars this October. Come and experience all the excitement and wonder of the next giant leap into space…

As winter approaches, we will be captivating audiences with two shows for all the family. In the Main Theatre, I’ll be directing Hans Christian Andersen’s epic adventure The Snow Queen, whilst in the Adventure Theatre our younger audience will be entertained by the heart-warming and very funny Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers.

Coinciding with The Snow Queen, we will be transforming Polka into a wonderland inspired by Andersen’s much-loved stories. Make your visit even more special as you explore our free exhibition Once upon a time…

This year, we received a record-breaking number of entries for our story-writing competition, Writing the World and we’d like to thank all the children who took part. Check out our brand new website for more information. You can also keep up-to-date with everything at Polka and sign up to our monthly e-bulletin, by visiting www.polkatheatre.com.

We hope to see you all soon!

Step into an enchanting wonderland this winter, as we invite you to experience an exhibition inspired by the tales of Hans Christian Andersen.

To coincide with our Christmas production of The Snow Queen, we will be transforming Polka into a treasure trove of stories and surprises; bringing to life the tales much-loved by you and your children.

Take time before or after the show to make a journey of discovery around Polka as you enter a mysterious world of fairy tales and fun that will bring your imagination to life…

Once there was a boy and one day he found a penguin at his door…

…he didn’t know where it came from or who it belonged to. The penguin looked sad and the boy thought it must be lost. So he decided to help it find its way home, even if that meant rowing all the way to the South Pole.

After the success of How to Catch a Star in 2008, this season Polka will bring to life on stage another of Oliver Jeffers’ acclaimed picture books. This simple and touching tale of friendship is the perfect festive treat for a younger audience.

Watch with Baby

Watch with Baby shows are designated shows where families are invited to come along to see a show with all the members of the family, no matter what age they are. These performances are not altered in any way, it simply means that the whole family are able to enjoy the show together with no age restrictions. Please watch out for the selected dates that these shows are available (marked on the diary with the symbol of a dummy). If you need any further information about Watch with Baby shows then please contact the Box Office on 020 8543 4888.
