• As YouTube is one of the main sources of streaming music, this would be the ideal place for my video to be featured. This means that the video will reach a large number of the target audience and would therefore be more successful. It is also easy to upload videos onto YouTube, which makes it easier for independent record labels and self-promoting bands to promote their product to their target audience. There is also the feature comment and share videos that are uploaded onto YouTube as a result of web 2.0, so people can communicate on the internet and give feedback and share songs they feel are successful. This is effective particularly for independent labels and bands as it gives the product more visibility to the audience and they also get information regarding how they could improve or if the product is popular.

Social Media

• I would promote my product on different forms of social media such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Post web 2.0 being introduced, social media is the most popular of communication and sending information to people all over the world. In todays society, especially amongst teenagers, social media is used by everybody and this way my product would reach people from different places and would spread awareness about the product. By the product being promoted world wide, the distribution would potentially be global, therefore it would be more successful for the record label/band. As the promotion would be on a large scale, it would reach all different audiences as well as the targeted niche audiences worldwide.
