Bringing Pride to all Filipinos around the world

To all of my kababayans here in Romania,

For the past few years, we are

looking for the best possible way to mean-

ingfully connect with each other. We want-

ed to feel that we have a family here

abroad even though we are mile and

miles away from home. I know not every-

one has direct access to the internet, and

so when this opportunity came of creating

a newsletter, I thought that we can clearly

read through the lines on what we do here in Romania as a communi-

ty. It would be also our major instrument to connect with one another,to reach out to as many Filipinos here in Romania and also to reach

out to our readers back home, our government, our families and to any

ordinary Filipino in the street, that we are here in Romania and we

have a strong and united Filipino community that we are proud of. So

welcome everyone to our first issue of Pinoy Sa Romanianewsletter.

This newsletter will get us connected in so many ways, ex-

changing stories of our experiences and informing everyone of what is

going on in the community. We want to make sure that we document

everything that we do here, because we take pride on them. We also

want to reach you on important information about upcoming communi-ty events. Through this newsletter, we can reach out to other Filipinos

outside of Bucharest to help us build a stronger community, and to

promote our Filipino culture and traditions. We are hoping to build a

stronger ties with our Philippine Embassy in Budapest, and eventually,

keep us informed timely on policy changes and programs for Filipinos

overseas. We are positive that we can achieve more as a Filipino

community here in Romania, with all of your support and your contri-

butions to make this newsletter more relevant, productive and a

source of Pinoy pride. Mabuhay ang Pinoy Sa Romania newsletter!

Mabuhay po tayong lahat na Pilipino!

Pinoy Sa Romania is a quarterly e-newsletter for Filipi-nos in Romania. The idea of a newsletter was envisioned by a

strong leader and advocate for Filipinos in Romania, JenettaAlambra. She was able to network with a US-based internation-al columnist-writer Ryan Tejero from Illinois, USA, who startedto guide her on how to go about the creation of a Pinoy Sa Ro-mania newsletter. Jennetta Alambra was featured in RyanTejeros international column, Filipino Spotted on the Map,which is published in a Filipino newspaper Pasa Pinoy - inMelbourne, Australia.
