Tarzan (80kg) is swinging from a tree by a

24m long rope of negligible mass, starting

with initial angle of 15 degrees. After his

first swing, Tarzan’s amplitude is now 80%

of his initial amplitude. Assuming Tarzan

does not add energy to his swing, how many

oscillations can he make before he will be

unable to land on a branch 1 meter below, and 3 meters away from the

equilibrium position of the rope?
