Tone of VoiceProfessional, simple, intriguing.
AudienceGraduating photography students and their tutors, photography professionals, End of Year Show visitors.
RationaleThe end of year show comprises of an exhibition and a publication to co-inside with the work that is displayed. The rationale behind the publication was to come up an identity and layout designs that could pass through a publication design. The layouts were to best showcase a simple aesthetic layout that best illuminated the photography.Simple layouts and basic typography, with consistently placed information were used.
Logo DesignThe logo design for the unseen publication was to create something simple. Using a san-serif typeface with serif detail removed to make the communciation simple, the seen highlihted in a darker colour. The logo separated on the publication itself further by placing half the word on the font and half on the back.
Grid StructureA 12 x 12 grid structure was created with certain rules for its use. The 12 offered the largest amount of versatility whislt remaining structured, rows added a variety of positioning places for arrangment of information.
The structure best allowed for versatility when composing dynamic custom image spreads. Full and half bleed, aswell as simple standalone images on single pages made the most of the space available, making the composition on the spreads far more engaging.
