THE SPATIAL JOURNEY
In the Spatial Journey project, we were to investigate the qualities of creating spaces with architectonic qualities ranging from the contemplative to energetic.
In the project model, the use of various geometric shapes were used in the creation of forms, movements and the exploration of lighting with development of the dou-ble-layered ceilings which diffuse light.
The chair has a faceted and circu-lar seat with very tall back made of 5 triangular tubes that are con-nected by woven straps. The energy of the chair is in the seat and back cover. The seat curves upward at the back, and the back cover folds back around the tubes. Both seat
and back use cut-outs (circles, tri-angles, arcs) that create a whimsi-cal movement that can be define as techno, futuristic, vibrating, and tribal. This is a chair with a strong presence! The top "ears" or "anten-nae" add to its energetic presence.

The plan was to add a roof top stu-dio to an existing row house for the late dramatic graphic designer, Saul Bass. These sketches reveal the pro-cess of how natural light will pene-trate through the skylight to create a dramatic effect in the studio as well as in the staircase.
The Section drawings of the studio reveals subtle alterations to the roof including a roof deck which can be seen in the physical model on the following spread.

SONORAN DESERT SHELTER
Multiple design solutions were explored in the design of the Desert Shelter in order to find ways that human and nature could coexist in the harsh weather of the Sonoran Desert. These preliminary sketches reveal the wind and sun studies used to design the right building for a harsh environment.

Northwest View of the Shelter
The idea was to design not just a re-search center, rather a place of comfort with delightful architectural attractions. These design features will serve as es-sential tools to reduce the impact that nature might have in the Sonoran Des-ert. The south outdoor and the common
Northwest outdoor
space juxtapose sharply against each other to create an intensified effect of shapes. Multiple louver strategies were incorporated in the outdoor areas to bring natural air in. Butterfly rooftops were incorporated to collect rainwater as well 3feet wide wall for thermo mass.

THE SCOPE HOUSESeries of sketches of the process of the scope house
This rifle scope was use as study and inspiration for the overall shapes, movement and profile of the Scope House
In January 2010, a devastating earthquake ravaged the city of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and claimed the lives of many. Thousands were affected by the earthquake including a large number of Haitians left homeless. The main focus of the Scope House project is to be mass produced and house large number of families that are left homeless and living under tents in the city of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
To improve reliability and lower cost, some off-the-shelf products were incorporated within the
design of the Scope house. These are the propane stove top, a gray water toilet system accompanied with a black water tank and eight solar voltaic panels will help to recharge electronics or small appliances.
The Scope House is also energy efficient and Eco-friendly as it is crafted from waterproof, recycled wood fiber and fiberglass materials. It is lightweight, relocatable and able to extend to allow for more space as well as bringing more natural light and ventilation within the rooms.

THE manheim TOWNSHIP LIBRARY CASE STUDY
in the Manheim library case study, A series of CAD files were imported into Revit to produce a Revit model using an existing design. In addition to CAD files, a complete set of construction document was reference and mined for pertinent information.

THE Villa savoye
Villa Savoye is a modernist villa in Poissy, in the suburbs of Paris, France, built between 1928 and 1931. A manifesto of Le Corbusier “five points” of new architecture. The Villa is an illustration of the bases of modern architecture. In the Villa Savoye project, I developed a hand drawn plan, a section and a physical model to reveal different approaches were used in order to maximize the understanding of the project and the ideas it has been based on.
