    DOB: 13-04-1984

I joined AU Studio in 2009 when the practice opened and have been an important member of the team as we grew in size. I helped develop the office filing system and managed the website and graphics alongside my project responsibilities.

Whilst working at AU Studio I have taken a number of high end residential projects from concept design to completion. Currently I am Project Architect on site for a listed building in a conservation area which entails extensive structural works and luxury fit out detailing.

At AU I have also worked in Libya where we masterplanned and branded the new media quarter in Tripoli. This features 200,000 sqm of building area including a theatre, opera house and conference centre. We drew up the framework and wrote briefs for each building including the TV broadcasting centre which we took on to tender. Other Libyan projects I have been part of include a number of tourist resorts and office developments.

I am well skilled in DTP and graphic design which I have used on a number of competition entries and for a 8 Ha mixed use development in Wiltshire. For this I designed and managed the successful pre-planning presentation including the production of all the visual material.

I passed my MArch in Architecture with commendation from The University of Sheffield. My thesis project The British Centre, Rome won the RIBA Yorkshire White Rose Award.

As a Part 1 I worked for van Heyningen and Haward Architects on education projects. I helped with detail development and produced NBS specifications for tender. I also visited site to inspect works and helped respond to RFIs.

In Manchester I worked for Provan and Makin Architects on a number of prospective residential developments in the city centre as well as a listed community centre.

This project is sited in the Belgravia conservation area in a Grade 2 listed building. It combines 2 adjacent maisonette flats which run between ground floor and basement through new openings in the Party Wall. In addition we designed a new feature stair and 2 extensions to the rear around a new external terrace.

The design incorporated extensive structural works to support the existing building above, whilst allowing for large clear areas of internal space in the new property. I have worked on the project from the outset and acted as Project Architect during the construction phase.

This project was an internal redesign and refit of a private residence near Marble Arch in West London.

We re-configured the internal spaces to create 2 new lounges, a kitchen, hallway and childrens room. The scheme aims to maximise space and provides concealed storage in a number of spaces including seats, wall paneling and stools.

I worked to develop a design for the space and drew up the bespoke fixed joinery for tender along with the specification of fabrics and finishes. I also assisted with running the project on site until completion.

    Clockwise from top left:

The Ladies Lounge features a table which can alter in height to be at coffee or dining level / The seats fold into a box for storage under the table / In the entrance hall we designed some storage joinery / The Majalis is the heart of the house and has bespoke storage under the seats along with stools which have a 2 sided top with either cushion or timber finish / The new kitchen was designed to match the timber detailing elsewhere.

Throughout the design period we have restlessly and creatively explored the potential offered by the LJBCs requirements. In such a large facility the spatial planning and arrangement is critical and much time was invested in ensuring the spaces provided met the clients needs. We have also looked at the proposals in 3 dimensions, ensuring the massing of the extension worked well alongside the existing building. The 3 dimensionality of our proposals were explored in physical and computer models of various scales from 1:1000 to 1:100. Large sectional models were made to understand how spaces related to each other in section and how particular elements work in detail.

This exploratory approach continues into how the building is detailed although here we also integrate our experience, precedents and relevant regulations.
