Graffiti Artist

During the passing period between first and second period classes, Mr. Banner, principal at Emily Dickenson Magnet School, emerged from his office and discovered graffiti written on the wall in the hallway near the entrance to the school. For some reason, graffiti had become an acute problem at Dickinson this school year, and Mr. Banner was determined to put an end to it. The graffiti, which was written in thick black marker at a height of about five and a half feet, said, “Banner is a bonehead.” Mr. Banner was sure that the graffiti had not been there before first period. He suspected that someone had just written the graffiti during passing period. Acting quickly, Mr. Banner rounded up ten students who were in the area. He brought them into his office and asked them to empty the contents of their purses, bookbags, and pockets.
