Introduction to the problem
Human Population is growing
exponentially
Resources are depleting faster
Less population density
Is there a solution?
The Solution
Reach zero growth rate
When death and birth rates of a certain
population are the same.
How can we reach this?
By raising awareness about this issue
Does this mean that some people have
to be killed?
No.
Theory
Having small families (1 – 2 children per
woman) is the key to reaching zero
growth rate
Killing makes results only worse
Example: Congo(DR) and Afghanistan
Why killing makes the situation
worse?
2 countries under war
Afghanistan: growth rate 3.49% per year.
Ranked 7th in the world.
Congo(DR): growth rate 2.77% per year.
Ranked 25th in the world
In other words, killing people only
increases population.
What can enhance the
situation?
Making families grow
If family grows with development, future
families will become smaller
Development of countries
What has the development of a
country have to do with this?
The more the developed the country the more enhanced economy in it
The more economy in the country the more the cost per child for families will increase (schools, food etc…)
People will think of having 1-2 children for a better life.
What about Jordan?
Jordan’s population growth rate is about
3.28% per year (2008 estimate).
We have the 11th highest population growth
rate in the world(2008 estimate)
What does this mean?
How can we help?
What does this mean?
Jordan has a lot of families with more
than 2 children
Jordan is not developed enough to
reach zero growth rate
How can we help?
Develop our country
Younger generation awareness
How can we help the
development of our country?
Enhance hospitals, government schools
and public transportations
These tasks means we have to change
the thought of people
Therefore we spread awareness mainly
to the younger generations
What do we know about our
younger generations?
Survey in our school
Ask several questions that indicate if the
younger generations will help the
population growth situation or not.
Survey Question 1: Are you aware
of the problems humanity can face
from human population growth?Collected Data
81.3% said yes
18.8% said no
Are you aware of the problems humanity can face from human
population growth?
Yes
No
Survey question 2: If you were to
have a family and children, how
many children would you think be
enough?Collected Data
0% answered 1
43.8% answered 2
37.5% answered 3
12.5% answered

6.3% answered
I don’t want to have
children

Survey Question 3 Do you think killing
exceeding numbers of children would
stop the rapid human population growth?
Collected Data
43.8% answered
yes
56.3% answered no
Do you think killing exceeding numbers of children would
stop the rapid human population growth?
Yes
No
Survey Question 4:Do you think that countries
that are struggling with civil war (Ex Congo
DR, Afghanistan) are suffering low population
growth rate?Collected Data
31.3% said yes
68.8% said noDo you think that countries that are struggling with civil war (Ex Congo DR, Afghanistan) are suffering low
population growth rate?
yes
no
Survey Question 5: Have you ever
heard of the term "zero growth
rate"?Collected Data
81.3% said yes
18.8% said no
Have you ever heard of the term "zero growth rate"?
yes
no
Survey Question 6: Do you think human
population growth can reach zero growth rate
(deaths and births almost the same level)?
Collected Data
68.8% said yes
31.3% said no
Do you think human population growth can reach zero growth rate (deaths and births almost
the same level)?
yes
no
Population Growth map
How is our situation compared
to other countries?
Developed countries
China
Developing countries
Syria
In comparison to Syria
Syria: 3.53% per year. 5th in the world. 21.2 million people
Jordan:3.28% per year. 11th in the world.6.14 million people
In Comparison to China
China:0.63% per year. 154th in the world. 1.31 billion people
Jordan:3.28% per year. 11th in the world.6.14 million people
