Dear Mrs. Diamond,

I am a very independent, motivated and detail oriented young professional that is currently studying at the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business and very interested in perusing a career in the field of business most likely financial business. I have a keen sense of leadership and continue to prove this to my peers and superiors by showing that I strive to succeed and improve on a daily basis. I know I will be the right fit for a managerial position in the future because I’m not only succeeding in my studies of business but I am enjoying and relating through past experience to said studies.

In my past jobs I have mainly worked in restaurants where I have strived to the highest position on the “food chain” by mastering the skills necessary to completing the job and then developing skills in order to complete said job and multi-task other jobs. As a supervisor at Smokin’ Joes BBQ I learnt how to efficiently give orders, in detail, efficiently give orders means to give orders in a way that others can respect. Having your team respect your decisions and orders is one of the most important things as a manger or supervisor. One method of giving orders I have found useful is to make sure you’re working while giving the orders (no one wants to be given a job by someone not working).

Working as an independent sales representative I have learnt to stay focused, creatively and efficiently complete tasks as well as manage and organize my time well. I have excelled my ability to focus by having a quota that I need to meet each shift and week in order to keep full time hours. I also had incentives set for each day and week that helped focus me and prove how efficiently and accurately I can make sales and accommodate to customers.

As you can see, my portfolio outlines my personal and professional aspirations, past jobs and jobs I’m currently trying to achieve a position at. I am a hard working, determined individual with a plan for success and many short and long term goals I need to complete to get there. The purpose of this portfolio is to not only tell you about myself but show you why I want to obtain work for your organization as well as what I will do with the experience from that work in the future.

Sincerely,

Perry R. Stockwell
