Basic Ideas: • an OWL ontology to capture ecosystems as evolving

linked resources

• Extensible through domain specific specialisation

• The model will also serve as a data schema: RDF graph instances stored in triple stores will reflect the evolution of the preserved resources

• dependencies may have complex topology

• dependency are characterized by usage intention • resources may be versioned

• Changes apply both to resources of the ecosystem AND

their descriptions

• Open the way toward reflexive digital preservation

• how could we preserve digital materials for the long haul, if the functionalities of the preservation system itself cannot be preserved?

• Idea: LRM could be used to model the PERICLES preservation systems as a particular collection of digital resources, thus leading to a form of reflexivity

• Ontological schemas may evolve too: OWL classes and properties can be modelled as particular LRM resources
