Local Resource• In the local Arizona arts community a prominent theatre education program is Live Theatre Workshop in

Tucson, Arizona. • Started in 1994 by Artistic Director Sabian Trout and Executive Director Kristi Loera• Live Theatre Workshop is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization. • The education program provided LTW was developed to not only compliment the LTW company but also to

teach others the craft that is involved with theatre.– There are weekly classes, as well as winter and summer based workshops to teach people of all ages

the art of theatre.– It serves hundreds of young students yearly.– Their newest program known as “Destination Drama” is the newest addition to LTW’s theatre education

program. It is an outreach program that brings drama instruction to elementary schools to supplement the lack of artistic instruction in public schools

National Resource

• The Lookingglass Theatre was formed in 1988 by a group of college graduates who used process based theatre and very unique theatrical.

• In 1992 Lookingglass theatre opened up its programming to educational and community based departments.• The three main visions of the Lookinglass Theatre is to create new work through the Lookinglass Theatre

form, staging world premiere's and outreach programming for educational and community based programming.

• The main production that this theatre company is known for is Lookinglass Alice, this is an avant-garde version of Lewis Carrol’s story about Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

• The Lookingglass Theatre Company combines a physical and improvisational rehearsal process centered on ensemble with training in theatre, dance, music, and the circus arts. We seek to redefine the limits of theatrical experience and to make theatre exhilarating, inspirational, and accessible to all.

• Each performance is a collaboration between artists, story and audience. • Lookingglass uses visual metaphor, gesture and daring theatricality to create transcendent staging.• Many of the actors play multiple roles. • The Mission of the Lookingglass Theatre is to change, charge and empower. Invention Lookingglass seeks to

redefine the limits of theatrical experience. The ensemble uses multi-disciplined arts training and an ambition for innovation to invent new ways to develop and tell stories.

International Resource

• Shakespeare's Globe was founded by Sam Wanamaker an American actor and director.• The founding year was 1949,when Sam went to London for the first time to find the original globe.• The globe is an international resource used to explore the work of Shakespeare and the original globe

playhouse that he wrote for.• The Theatre works hard to keep the education and understanding of Shakespeare's work alive.• The timeline from when the globe’s location was found to when it was finally finished is from 1970-1997.• Today the Globe is dedicated to experiencing and understanding Shakespeare’s work in performance

internationally.• The globe has three central points

– First, the faithful reconstruction of the original globe theatre.– Second, it strives for an international reputation of excellence in performance of Shakespeare's work and other new works.– Lastly the Globe pushes for the study of Shakespeare's performance work.

Local Graduate Programs• University of Arizona offers a unique course study of professional training mixed with real world theatre

experiences.• The mission of the school is to provide professional training and an education that you will need to have a
