As Christians we make judgments about morality based on what scripture says to be moral. Have you ever wondered if the commands of the Bible are true? If you are like me you have taken these truths and simply assumed them to be true. “I know that your actions are wrong because I assume this book is true.” I think you can see the humor in that statement. Biblical World View

Having a Biblical worldview means that you see reality through the lens of scripture. As

Christians we make judgments about morality based on what scripture says to be moral. Have

you ever wondered if the commands of the Bible are true? If you are like me you have taken

these truths and simply assumed them to be true. “I know that your actions are wrong because

I assume this book is true.” I think you can see the humor in that statement. Unfortunately

some Christians do not. Even worse they are ill prepared to give a defense for what they

believe. If we as Christians are going to be so bold about claiming truth then I believe we must

be equipped to explain why we hold these truths. Until then we will simply be seen as a

clattering noise. Our arguments must have support.

Thank you for praying for our Life Change Week. We had a wonderful time of

worshipping God and also learning more about Him and who He created us to be. Several

students were saved and everyone was challenged with being a leader for God each and

every day. We will continue to build upon this foundation that was laid through chapels

and day to day discussions in classrooms.

LIFE CHANGE WEEK

February 4 – 8

Our speaker this year is Rusty Richards.

Rusty is the youth pastor at Chillicothe

Christian Church. He has spoken at MS

chapels in the past and was last year’s LCW

speaker. His heart is to love God and see

youth grow into mature believers, properly

equipped to live for Jesus Christ. The theme

for this year is Fan or Follower. Moving past a

casual relationship with Jesus to become a

devoted and passionate follower. Rusty will

speak each morning and then be doing break

out sessions for each grade in the afternoons.

Parents are welcome to attend our morning

chapels. They will begin around 8:45 am each

morning.

ACSI MUSIC FESTIVAL

Several of our 6-8 choir and band

members will be participating in the

ACSI Music Festival at Olivet

Nazarene University on March 8 – 9.

The concert will be on Saturday,

March 9 at 2:00 pm. There are

several ACSI schools that participate

in the concert. It is a free concert and

all are welcome to come.

BRADLEY BRIDGE-PAL PROGRAM

Both Middle School and High School students are

participating in the Bradley Bridge-Pal Program.

The program fosters an interest in engineering

and helps students understand the value of good

citizenship and service. Each team works with

engineering students from Bradley. Bradley PALS

meet with their assigned teams at least once to

help them organize, design, analyze and construct

their bridges for the final competition. The final

constructed bridges are evaluated and tested at

the BRIDGE PAL bridge-busting event, held at the

Peoria Northwoods Mall on February 23rd. Please

come out on the 23rd to cheer them on.

8th GRADE PARENTS

If you have pictures of your children from the school

years, please send them in to the office. We will be

using them for a special presentation at 8th grade

recognition. The pictures will be returned.

ACTS MINISTRY

The 7th and 8

th graders participated in their first

ACTS Ministry. ACTS stands for Advancing Christ

Through Service. Our students were able to

minister at PAWS, the South Side Mission, the

Mission Mart, the Salvation Army, Manor Care, the

Peoria Rescue Ministry, the Dream Center, the

Crittenton Crisis Nursery, and PCS Elementary.

Photos of students ministering at PAWS can be

found on our PCS Facebook page.

Thanks for showing your servant hearts, students!

ICC Honors Program- The ICC honors program offers students going to ICC a chance to gain a full ride

scholarship. For more information, and an application, you can go to

http://www.icc.edu.campuslife/honorsProgram.applying.asp. Also, students who have taken dual credit

courses will need to submit a change of major form in order to have their program changed from an

undecided major to their correct major. This is important for students who plan to apply for Financial

Aid, as “undecided” is not a financial aid-eligible curriculum. (The state requires that dual credit students

must be placed in an “undecided” curriculum while they are taking the dual credit courses. Please see Mr.

Weaver if you need a Change of Major Form. There are also copies of ICC’s “Understanding Financial Aid”

brochure available by request.

SENIOR COLLEGE PLANNING CALENDER

February-

Men who are 18 years old or over must register for the draft in order to receive Federal Financial

Aid. Inquire at the local post office.
