HIGH SCHOOL

COUNSELOR’S CORNER Cont…

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) remains free to all participating schools and gives

students the all-important opportunity to fully explore career possibilities.

The ASVAB CEP is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes:

1. a multiple-aptitude test battery,

2. an interest inventory, and

3. various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work.

The ASVAB test is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world. The ASVAB

provides students, as well as their counselors, information about their current academic strengths and

abilities in eight different areas that can ultimately aid them as they explore potential educational and

career opportunities awaiting them after high school. Test scores are provided only to the school

counselor, who in turn furnishes them to the students. Schools do not have to release student

information or scores to military recruiting services to participate in the ASVAB CEP.
