1. Introduction The Manager Dashboard allows you to view, manage and analyze information about your Direct Report workforce. It enables you to view such information as:

• important upcoming dates and events such term end date, certifications to expire, and compensatory time balances, allowing you to take action accordingly.

• details such as job details, contact information, compensation, and time reporting.

Important: It is recommended that you allow pop-ups in order to navigate through the pages in the Manager Dashboard. This will allow you to open screens in a new window and give you the ability to export data.

2. Manager Dashboard Home Page

The Home Page consists of two pagelets:

1. Alerts pagelet

2. Direct Line Reports pagelet

2.1. Alerts Pagelet There are two alert types featured on the Alerts pagelet:

1. Expiring Licenses/Certificates

2. Expiring Memberships

The screenshot below illustrates the following fields and controls on the Alerts pagelet that are further explained after

the screenshot.

1. Alert Message link: Click the link of any of the alert messages to display the detail page to provide more

information about the alert. These secondary pages are view only.

All alerts are time sensitive and the system generates them by comparing the current date to the date specified

for each alert type and level.

Click on the Return to Previous Page button to close the page and to return to the Alerts and Direct Reports

pagelets.

2. View All: Click this link to open the More Alert Information page to view details regarding all alerts associated

with your Direct Reports. When the review is completed, click the Return button to return to the Alerts Pagelet.

3. Delete: To delete the alert, click the Garbage Can icon. Click the Return button to return to the Alerts Pagelet.

Use the Pagelet Settings icon to minimize (collapse) and expand the Alerts pagelet.

To collapse the Alerts pagelet, click on the Pagelet Settings icon.

Next, click on the Minimize link.

To expand a collapsed section, click the Expand button.

2.2. Direct Line Reports Pagelet

The Direct Line Reports pagelet provides various details about your employees from this single location.

Use the five tabs at the top to view Summary, Job Details, Contact, Compensation, and Time information.

First, we will look at the navigation buttons and links at the top of the Direct Line Reports pagelet.

2.2.1. Navigation Buttons and Links In this example, this Manager has 13 Direct Reports. However, when the Manager Dashboard is first opened, only the

first 10 Direct Reports are displayed. Use the controls at the top of the page to display more Direct Reports.

2.2.1.1. Show Next Row To view the next ten Direct Reports, click on the Show next row icon.

After clicking the button, the next 3 Direct Reports are displayed.

2.2.1.2. Show Previous Row

Click on the Show previous row to navigate to the previous 10 Direct Line Reports.

2.2.1.3. Zoom Click the Zoom icon to have the list of Direct Line Reports in a Direct Reports modal (pop-out) window.

The Direct Reports page opens as a separate modal (pop-out) window while the Manager Dashboard remains open in

the background. Click the Return button to return to the Direct Line Reports pagelet.

2.2.1.4. View All To view all Direct Line Reports at once, click on the View All link.

All 13 Direct Reports are displayed in the pagelet.

2.2.1.5. View My Organization

Click this link when you are a higher level manager to access the My Organization pagelet and view the same data for

direct and indirect reports in a hierarchical grid.

Note: You will not see the View My Organization link when you do not have Indirect Reports.

After clicking the link, a modal window opens.

The following screenshot illustrates the fields on the My Organization pagelet.

Click the Return button to return to the Manager Dashboard; the modal window will close.

2.2.2. Summary Tab The Summary tab displays a high level overview of employee’s job and rankings.

It displays the employee’s Name, Positon/Job Title and Position in Salary Range.

This example illustrates the fields and controls on the Direct Line Reports pagelet: Summary tab.

If a Manager has Vacant Positions, the vacant positions will be listed before the Direct Reports.

2.2.3. Job Details Tab The following screenshot illustrates the fields on the Job Details tab of the Direct Line Reports pagelet.

Included on the Job Details page are the following fields:

1. Empl ID: The employee’s Employee Number.

2. Position / Job Title: If the employee is position managed, then there will be a Position Title. If not, then

it will be a Job Title.

3. Original Hire Date: This date represents the date the employee was first hired by the University.

4. Position Start Date: This date is the first date in current job.

5. Expected Job End Date: This field will be empty if the employee is permanent.

6. Employee Class: This information comes from a field in Job Data.

7. Employee Status: This displays the payroll status of the current job record.

2.2.4. Contact Tab The information displayed on the Contact tab includes the employee’s mobile and home phone numbers and email that

come from their personal data in HR.

The other information provided on this page includes the employee’s Department, and Emergency Contact if the

employee has entered this information through Employee Self-Service (myHR).

As illustrated in the previous screenshot, to access the employee’s Emergency Contact’s contact information, click on

the Emergency Contact name which is a link.

An Emergency Contact page will display in a new window with the contact information as illustrated in the following

screenshot.

2.2.5. Compensation Tab

The Compensation tab displays how employees fit into the salary range for their jobs.

The amounts in the fields in the previous screenshot are explained as follows:

Actual Salary: This is the employee’s annual salary adjusted for variations in work schedules where appropriate.

(e.g., an employee who works a 37.5-hour work week).

Compensation Rate: This is the employee’s annual salary based on a 35-hour work week.

Minimum, Maximum: Displays the minimum and maximum salaries of the salary range for the employee’s job. If

no salary grade is associated with the job code, no information will display. This information, along with the

annual salary can be seen visually on the Summary tab in the Position in Salary Range column.

Salary Grade: Salary grades define an appropriate salary range for a group of jobs of similar value to the

organization.

Salary Step: Salary steps are defined salary values expressed between the minimum and maximum of a salary

grade.

2.2.6. Time The following screenshot illustrates the fields on the Time tab.

If an employee has a balance in any active Comp Plan, a Details link will display in the Other Balances column.

Note: The Details link will not display if only a Vacation Plan is present as there is no additional information on the

Leave/Compensatory Time Balances page relating to the Vacation Balance.

As illustrated in the previous screenshot, we will click the Details link for Tamlin Lee Jones.

Clicking on the link will open a new window - Leave/Compensatory Time Balance; it displays the Leave/Compensatory

Time page for the employee. Compensatory Time shows the number of comp time hours available to the employee. The

comp time balance is retrieved from Time and Labor.

Click on the View Detail icon to view more information.

The Detail page displays the balance of Leave/Compensatory time for an employee as of the specified date.

Click the Return button to return to the previous page.

Note: To return to the Manager Dashboard, close the Leave/Compensatory Balance window.

2.2.7. Show All To Show All of the tabs columns on the Direct Line Reports pagelet click on the Show all columns button.

After clicking the Show All button, all information, from all tabs, displays.

Scroll across to view all the columns displayed on the page.

To display the Direct Report data once again in the tabs, click on the Show Tabs button.

2.2.8. Multiple Jobs A Manager with multiple jobs that have Direct Reports, will see the Select Your Job option at the top of the Direct Line

Reports pagelet.

All employees reporting to the position that is selected in the Select Your Job field, will appear on the Summary page.

To view the employees for a different position, click on the drop-down arrow beside the field.

Select the position in the drop-down list.

The data displayed on the Summary page will update automatically after the selection is made.

3. Talent Summary

The Talent Summary page provides managers with a comprehensive view of talent data related to an individual

employee through the use of a dashboard.

The Talent Summary page displays various pagelets displaying much of the information available in the Direct Line

Reports grid in greater detail.

3.1. Accessing the Talent Summary Page

There are two ways to access the Talent Summary page.

1. The first way is to click on the employee’s name link on the Manager Dashboard Direct Line Reports pagelet.

2. The second way is to access the Talent Summary page from the Main Menu.

Next, click on the Select button next to the Employee’s name.

3.2. Talent Summary Pagelets The screenshot below illustrates the information provided on the Talent Summary.

The Talent Summary page provides a collection of talent management pagelets including: Career History, Licenses and

Certifications, Education, Base Salary History and Current Salary.

3.3. Talent Summary Header The Talent Summary Header appears at the top of the Talent Summary page.

The header section on the Talent Summary page displays two columns of job data related to this employee.

The Additional Jobs icon will display next to the employee's name, when an employee holds multiple jobs within the

organization.

Pause over the icon with the curser to see the name of the other job or jobs held by this person.

The long Position Title, if one exists, will display. If not, then the Job Title will display.

3.4. Career History The Career History pagelet displays job summary information for the employee.

This pagelet displays a grid with a list of jobs that the employee holds and has held in the past, with the most recent jobs

first. A grayed-out date in the End Date column indicates the date that the current job will end.

Click the View Details or View All link to open the Career History model window to view all of the employee's job

history.

The View Details link appears when there are five or fewer rows of job history.

The View All link appears when there are more than five rows of history.

The Career History modal window also displays the employment record number for the person.

Click the Return button to return to the Talent Summary page.

3.5. Licenses and Certifications The Licenses and Certifications pagelet displays the licenses and certificates held by this employee and their expiration

date.

3.6. Education The Education pagelet displays the schools attended and degrees completed by this employee.

3.7. Base Salary History The Base Salary History pagelet displays the compensation history for an employee.

Use this pagelet to view salary change history; it displays the last five years of compensation.

Pause over the graph line points to view the exact employee's Actual salary for a specific year.

Click the View Compensation History link to open the Compensation History page.

3.7.1. View Compensation History On the Compensation History page, you can view the employee's salary in detail including changes and the type of

changes.

1. Compensation History Chart: Click to access the Compensation History Chart page.

2. Date of Change: Click on the date link to access the Salary Change Details page.

3. Return to Talent Summary: Click the link to exit the page and return to the Talent Summary dashboard.

3.7.2. Compensation History Chart Compensation data changes are displayed in a graphical format on the Compensation History Chart page.

1. The Compensation Source refers to the type of history data that is used to plot the chart which is the Actual

Salary.

2. Time Period: Select the time period to filter compensation data to be displayed in the chart. Values are All, Last

15 Years, Last 10 Years, and Last 5 Years.

Click the Return button to return to the Compensation History page.

3.8. Current Salary The Current Salary pagelet displays the salary range for an employee's job and where the employee falls within that

range. The pagelet displays the minimum, midpoint, and maximum of the salary grade for this employee's job.

The arrow icon that runs across the salary range bar, indicates the employee's compa-ratio.

The percentage that appears is in comparison to the midpoint of the range.

You can pause over the arrow icon to view the employee's Actual Salary.
