REDUCING OF HOUSEHOLD SOLID WASTE IN BATU MALANG BY IMPLEMENTING MODIFIED OF TAKAKURA BOX

Background

Household solid waste become a serious problem in the very densely settlement. Malang has also the similar problem but fortunately they has applied the modification of Takakura box. By putting the organic solid waste in the box, the decomposer in this box break down the waste until compost level without any treatment.

resultsshow that the implementation of the modified Takakura box can reduce the organic solid waste from the household, even until zero waste. But, it is still necessary to encourage the people to segregate the waste into organic and non-organic waste from the household.
