So, you ask,

“how do i determine my client’s skin tone?”

It’s simpler than you may think! begin by analyzing the skin on the inside of their wrist (or any area not exposed to the sun).

do you see yellow, orange or olive undertones? do their veins appear green? do they prefer gold jewelry? If so, they are warm skin toned. Warm tones look best with earthy colors like brown, beige, peach, orange, bronze and brick red.

do you see pink or blue undertones? does the client

have bluish veins? do they favor silver jewelry? If so, they are cool skin toned. They look best in jewel tones, charcoal, yellow, raspberry, navy and blue-red.

If it’s difficult to tell, they may be neutral-toned. Lucky them, they can wear just about any color, so go ahead and play!

once you have determined your client’s skin tone, it’s time to find a perfect Colour match. You’ll find a helpful visual on the bottom label of every bottle of Colour and effects. It tells you if it’s sheer, semi-sheer or opaque and whether it’s warm, neutral or cool, making
