the front seats are fully electrically adjustable allowing all drivers to find their ideal driving position. Adjustments can be made for reach, height, seat incline, backrest incline, lumbar support, and the angle of the upper backrest. furthermore, the welcome function of the driver’s seat allows easier access to the cabin. On unlocking the vehicle, the seat will automatically retract by 50mm to allow for easy access. With a 30Gb hard drive, of which 10Gb is reserved for an MP3 jukebox function, integrated telephone and GPS satellite navigation with integrated Australian road mapping with both visual and audible guidance. the design of the driver information display combines elegance with innovation. the analogue dials are permanently backlit while the needles rotate around the outside of the dials allowing large information screens to be placed inside bringing all driver information to a central area straight in front of the driver. this reinforces the feeling of being centred in a cockpit that is totally focussed around driving pleasure and control.the driver’s seat memory function allows two individual drivers to program their preferences into the car. not only is it possible to set electric seating adjustments, you can also set the positioning of the rear-view mirrors and their preferred climate control settings.

safety. the Static AfS on Comfort models allows illumination of up to 75 degrees using an angled static lamp. the Dynamic AfS on Exclusive models allows illumination of up to 105 degrees using directional lamps linked to the steering and directional indicators. this system is combined with Bi-Xenon dual function, Bi-Directional headlights for excellent visibility. Designed to the highest environmental and fuel efficiency standards, it’s no wonder Citroën has been named as one of the leading car makers in Europe with the lowest average emissions across its entire range. the C5’s engine range has been renewed and expanded to include 2 new diesel engines. not only do they offer new levels of performance and fuel economy, they also meet the tough new Euro V emissions standard which means lower emissions and the ability to maintain them for longer.the new C5 ensures minimal Co2 levels by cutting pollutant emissions with its electronically controlled high-pressure direct injection diesel engines. the C5 is equipped with the very latest diesel technology with a choice of a 2.0L or a 3.0L HDi turbo Diesel. Both engines are equipped with a diesel particle filter system which eliminates particle emissions.

The new 2.0L Diesel Enginethe new 2.0 litre HDi engine is a truly new power unit with a new, stiffer block, a new cylinder head that enables the engine to breath more efficiently (13 per cent more air admitted to the engine), new pistons and combustion chambers to work with the new 200 bar high pressure injection system, a new and more powerful turbocharger, new engine management system, new levels of noise, vibration and harshness reduction and longer service intervals for the particulate filter. these changes enable the new 2.0 litre engine to offer more than a 5 percent increase in torque, a 20 percent power lift from 100 to 120 kW, while engine noise is a cut by 1 dB. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions drop by an average of 6.3 percent across the C5 range. the new engine has a dramatic effect on performance, and improved combined fuel consumption to 6.8 L/100 km for the saloon and reduced CO2 emissions.

The new 3.0L Diesel Enginethe new 3.0 litre engine lifts power to a new level thanks to its enlarged and strengthened cylinder block, upgraded piston cooling, and a new larger capacity twin variable geometry turbocharger. these variable displacement turbo chargers are designed to enhance torque production and mean that at low engine speed the turbochargers can respond quickly in the manner of a smaller turbocharger, while at high speeds they can pump the high volumes of air required by altering the angle of their vanes. the new Citroën V6 HDi engine is fitted with a third generation particulate filter that is both highly effective and is self cleaning, which can either occur naturally if the use of the engine is suitable or the engine management system can clean the particulate filter by raising its temperature to 450 degrees.the new 3.0L V6 engine does not so much have a torque curve as a torque table top. from 1600 rpm to 3500 rpm, the torque curve is actually perfectly flat at the maximum torque of 450 nm. With the new 3.0 litre V6 under the bonnet. Combined fuel consumption also improves to 7.4 L/100 km for both the saloon and tourer.

Accident avoidance is the key to passenger safety. from the comfort of the driver’s seat to reduce fatigue, to the various and lengthy list of active and passive safety equipment, the entire design process of the new Citroën C5 has been focused around safety. the driving position benefits not just from the usual collection of airbags, but also a driver’s knee airbag and a retractable steering column for total on-road control. Citroën C5 is also equipped with a vast array of electronic driving aids: ABS, EBD, EBA and ESP with ASr traction control.the new C5 is equipped with: ABS, to avoid the wheels locking under braking; EBD, which evenly distributes braking force between all wheels; EBA, to reduce

stopping distances under emergency braking; and ESP, which maintains vehicle stability in steering manoeuvres. ESP also comes with ASr traction control which improves traction and can help the driver maintain control even if the limit of adhesion is inadvertently reached while cornering.the new C5 can be equipped with up to 9 airbags for total passenger protection. Driver, passenger, front lateral, front and rear roof, and knee airbags are standard. Lateral rear airbags are standard on ‘exclusive’ models.While passenger protection is the key focus of the new C5, vehicle protection has also been of importance. All models feature remote central locking as well as

deadlocks where the vehicle automatically locks while in motion and automatically relocks after 30 seconds if no doors are opened.tyre pressure is an important element of driving safety. tyre pressure sensors constantly monitor the pressure of all tyres and alerts the driver via audible and visible warnings should any change in tyre pressure be detected. this feature is standard on ‘exclusive’ models.Enhancing both safety and comfort, the electronic park brake engages and disengages automatically. it is linked to the engine torque on application to ensure it is always engaged with the required strength to hold the vehicle.

the dynamic and fluid outline of Citroën C5 tourer™ masks excellent load capacity and a useable, well-shaped load space. A motorised tailgate* is also available allowing the boot to be opened at the touch of a button.A load volume of 505 litres under the load cover is easily accessible through a wide-opening tailgate and this leads to interior dimensions of 1115mm wide and 851mm high. the load cover rolls out to cover the full length of the boot, protecting belongings from unwanted attention while the vehicle is parked. A boot net can be positioned in many different ways within the load area using the various load hooks and can prevent loads from sliding around the boot while the vehicle is moving.

thanks to the Hydractive iii+ suspension, the load sill is height adjustable on the new C5 tourer allowing the load height to be raised or lowered by up to 6cm. this automatically returns to the normal level once the vehicle moves away or by using the control switches in the cabin. A useful removable torch is also situated in the boot of the C5 tourer, doubling up as a boot light, the torch can be removed when required. for even greater load space, the rear seats fold in a 2/3, 1/3 split allowing longer, larger items to be carried as required. Stylish roof bars also feature for additional carrying capacity.
