Case Point of Interest

Uniformed Security Officer (with an unauthorized weapon) accused of shooting and killing of subject that attacked him with a sharpened screwdriver.

Larry’s expert testimony was of the fact that a sharpened screwdriver can be a deadly weapon and can be used to do great bodily harm.

Security Officer, looking initially at 25 years to life and two strikes, receives time served (3 years) and one strike.

Case Point of InterestFransico Nunez vs. State of California

San Bernardino County FSB 05230

Subject supposedly shot at C.H.P. Officers while being pursued on foot. The subject and the supposed weapon were recovered.

With Larry’s work on this case, he was able to show that the recovered weapon could not have been fired and was able to point out mishandling of evidence. Larry was invited to speak with the California State Attorney’s Office about the mishandled evidence.

Nunez, who was initially looking at 25 years, received a 7 year sentence (which was due to other factors).

Case Point of InterestJose Rodas vs. State of California

San Bernardino County FWV 039452

Rodas was attacked by others while in his pick-up truck. As he was pulled from the truck by the assailants, he feared for his life. Rodas was able to pull a machete out of his truck then struck and nearly

killed one of his assailants.

Larry worked as a expert consultant on this case and was able to show that Rojas went through different states of mental alertness in

this fight, from the initial contact and assault,to the point that Rodas feared for his life.

Rodas was initially looking at 25 years to life for the crimes of Attempted Murder & Mayhem. Rodas received 1 year county time.

This case involves an possible illegal search, seizure and arrest of a subject in a (undisclosed) San Diego County (CA) City.

The City Attorney has retained Larry and his expertise to assist in the defense of the city in this Federal Lawsuit.
