and I try to live by that maxim. To that

end – let me express my deepest ap-

preciation for your continued support

of YOUR public media station –

WLVT/PBS39. Your investment in this

station is invaluable and necessary to

ensure we remain the vibrant, locally

connected and relevant station we are

right now.

As your public media station contin-

ues to grow and expand, you may have

noticed a change in our evening pro-

gramming. Last July we changed our

format to create a different viewing ex-

perience for the public media con-

sumers in our broadcast area. Rather

than having two channels showing

identical programming at the same

time, we now have a lineup that is

100% different from the other public

media station in our market. This

change allowed us to bring our viewers

new shows such as Doc Martin, Death

in Paradise and Sherlock Holmes – as

well as show PBS favorites like Master-

piece Theatre and NOVA at a different

time. Our market research has shown a

large increase in the viewership of our

programs since the changeover – but I

am most interested in what our mem-

bers think, so please share your

thoughts and opinions with our Mem-

bership Team at 610-984-8100.

PBS39 Celebrates Premiere of Downton AbbeyOn Saturday, January 5, more than 100 fans gathered to preview the highly-anticipated third season of theaward-winning series Downton Abbey. The free event was open to the public, and attendees were treated tostation tours, tea and cookies donated by Jumbars, and a tantalizing first hour of Episode One, Season 3.

“Downton Abbey is one of the most exciting and highly acclaimed programs in PBS history,” said Tim Fallon,PBS39 CEO. “Not to mention our viewers love it! We were thrilled to share in this excitement with the communityand celebrate public media.”
