Color Considerations For Modular Concrete Products

Color VariationsAs in all natural materials, color in paving stones has inherent variations. Paver color is affected by the variances inthe raw materials, concrete mixture moisture content, climatic conditions and other variations. Therefore, the colorsshown are approximate representations of Pavestone’s paver colors, but should not be expected to be an exactmatch of what will be delivered.

The Nature of EfflorescenceAnother cause of color variation in pavers may be the natural phenomenon called efflorescence. Efflorescence, adeposit of white salts consisting of mostly calcium carbonate, may appear as a white powder on the paver surfaceand in no way affects the structural integrity. This phenomenon occurs in all concrete and although it cannot be com-pletely prevented from occurring, efflorescence generally will weather off and disappear over time or can beremoved with cleaners at the job site.
