PASTOR ROBERT JACKSON HEMINGWAY

Robert Jackson Hemingway was born in Wampee, South Carolina on July 11, 1955. He is the sixth of eight children born to Daniel and Hannah Hemingway. Robert has been a resident of New Haven for the past 40 years.

Robert has an extensive and varied background. Having gone astray at an early age, he became involved in gang activity and other criminal behavior. He subsequently became involved with and addicted to illicit drugs, which maintained control of his life for over 20 years. After several treatment interventions, including Connecticut Valley Hospital; Hallbrook Hospital; Crossroads; Gaylord Hospital and methadone programs, Robert became alcohol and drug free December 8, 1989. Since then Robert has been living a sober and productive life with a mind and heart stayed on God and helping others to recover from similar situations.

In October 2003, Robert answered the “Lord’s Call” and founded Uttermost Deliverance and Restoration Ministries - affectionately known as UDAR. UDAR is a ministry of outreach, seeking to reach the hard to reach, encouraging them to become a part of UDAR, a Church of Recovery, for Recovery, by The Redeemer. UDAR is a Gentle Place with the Heart of God.

Pastor Hemingway is truly a servant with the “Heart of God”. It is his desire that everyone regains their rightful place and live out the purpose that God has for them. Because of this, he has dedicated his life to the cause of Christ.

After 15+ years as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Pastor Hemingway chose to leave his profession and go into ministry full time.

Pastor Hemingway is the father of two children, Danielle and Robert, Jr.; Pop-Pop to Nicole and loving husband to Brenda.

Affirmation of Faith(Our Belief)

Leader: We believe in the Father who is God Almighty.Audience: The creator of all things and the preserver of Light and Life.

Leader: We believe in the Son who is Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son.Audience: He was human and divine; truly lived, suffered and died, rose again from the dead, ascended on high and is coming again.

Leader: We believe that Jesus was sent by God to man.Audience: That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

Leader: We believe in the Holy Ghost who was sent from God the Father and Son.Audience: That the Holy Spirit convicts and converts sinners, dwells in the believer, keeps the believer from the power of sin and leads him to the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Leader: We believe the Bible is the word of God, given by inspiration through Holy men.Audience: That in the Bible, God seeks to reveal His will to man and man seeks to respond to God’s revelation.

Leader: We believe that the union of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is revealed through His Church.Audience: That all believers are united into one body, the Church.

Leader: We believe that Christ is coming back, for His Holy Church without spot or wrinkle.

Everyone: That without Holiness in spirit, soul and body, no man shall see the Lord.
