AMK Background• AMK is an MFI in Cambodia, owned by Concern Worldwide,
an international relief and development organization• It focuses on providing loans to the rural poor in Cambodia• DB received an application from AMK for funding in 2008• In March 2009, students from the University of Denver visited
the MFI and conducted several days of on-site due diligence- Meetings with the management team in the head office
(CEO CFO Operations Manager HR Manager Head of(CEO, CFO, Operations Manager, HR Manager, Head of IT, Accountants, etc.
- Meetings in the field with branch staff and AMK clients• Students helped to draft the credit write-up, which was
provided to DB’s credit committee• The credit committee approved the transaction• As of August 2009, DB is negotiating the terms of the
transaction with AMK and their local bank, hoping to disburse soon.
