NEWSLETTER – Tuesday 2nd May 2017

Celebrating Talents beyond school. Congratulations to Taylor who won a trophy in a BMX competition! We were so impressed that we thought a visit to the Happy Book was also needed! What an interesting hobby! If your child has a hobby you would like to share with us please email school with the details.

Year 4 Active Soccer Football Year 4 took part in an Active Soccer tournament this week. The team won 2 games and lost 1 in their group, which meant they went through to the semi final. Despite their fantastic efforts they were beaten by 1 goal ! Unlucky boys! A big thank you for representing our school in such a positive manner and for being excellent Park Brow role models. Well done Year 4.

SMSC Theme for this week is Safety As the light nights are upon us this week’s assembly focus has been around trust and keeping safe in the community. Year 5 on the other hand have been learning all about CPR and First Aid with Mr Beckwith.

Year 4 had the task of completing some very important homework. They were asked to find out as much information about The Romans and present their findings to their class. The children (and Parents) really got stuck into the project and produced some wonderful work. We had Roman costumes, a Colosseum made from biscuits, power points full of Roman facts, mosaic tiles and many other examples of Roman Life. Well done Year 4 you obviously enjoyed the project! The pupil’s work is displayed outside their classroom.

Year 4 Focus Week

Week.

SMILEY SHOP Well done to all the children who exchanged their smileys for prizes this week. We have had a lot of Gold awards this week. Let’s see if they can make it Platinum by the end of the term.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS

Year 1 enjoyed making Easter Chicks and Crosses in Art. Our Easter raffle was also a great success. Well done to Cerys Edmunds who won an enormous chocolate egg in our Easter raffle.

WHO HAS BEEN IN OUR HAPPY BOOK?

Well done to Thomas, Scarlett and

Lewis for some fantastic English

work. Brilliant!

Just a reminder that school will be providing a SATS Breakfast Club free of charge for Year 6 pupils starting on Monday 8th May. This will run throughout the week. We hope to see as many children there as possible. The club will run from 8.00-8:55 am each day in school.
