Good parenting is parenting that fosters psychological development in elements like honesty, empathy self reliance, kindness , cooperation, self control and cheerfulness.

Always share with your child what the teachers say at PTM. Silence or secrecy feels like a conspiracy for the child.

•Make most of every Parent teacher conference:•Have a goal-----•Write down the questions in advance •Be prepared to share information about your child.•Take notes for future reference.

If your child isn’t making as much a progress in reading as you think is appropriate, its time to talk to the teacher and come up with a plan.

Keep in mind however that there's a difference between getting more help and just putting more pressure on a child.

Get all the facts.

Follow established channels.

Be specific.

Avoid personal attacks

Be sure it’s your child’s problem not yours.
