PARAMORE FRONT COVER ANALYSIS

Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, formed in 2004. The
band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist
Taylor York. The group released its debut album All We Know Is Falling in 2005, and its second album Riot! in 2007, which was certified Platinum in the US and Gold in
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK
BACKGROUND
The imagine of Hayley looks relaxed and free. Her body
posture is upright yet rebel like. Her pose is yet funky and
punkie. Her facial expression is squashed but looks fierce. This could be suggesting she read to right or rock out to the music.
Her finger pose makes her look so relax as though she swearing
at the reader. Although the picture may look simple its very vibrant. This magazine would be
diverse in its gender because rock music is sound quite male
dominated but the imagine dilutes this suggestion

Her clothing is clean cut and simple which rings more attention to her face. Her hair seems to e
playing the with music because its free following which could be representing her attitude. The
background/setting seems to be dark and isolated which brings more attention to her and her
freeness. The anchoring text to this imagine “ pop-rock’s brightest young rebels” also represent her
imagine she portrays. Although you can say the picture is feminine
because it’s a women, it becomes neutralized from the colour scheme of red and back.

The image of Hayley come across as defiantly fierce. Almost like a
boxer. Her hand in a fist once again show she strong and a fighter. This
imagine may have been formed because rock music may be seen a
male dominated. But this image show Hayley representing it also
for female. Her face is quirky which contrast to her fist
movement. Her first movement also help to promote what in the
magazine.

It provokes the reader to read what is on her fist because it very distinctive “I am
who I am with no apologies” this supports her imagine of a boxer. The colour scheme
is red and white. It compliments Hayley red hear and her fierceness almost
represents she on fire ready to battle. Hayley gives of an imagine of oxymoron.
Sweet yet fierce. Hard but soft. This helps to appeal to both audiences.

The image now includes the rest of the Paramore band. Her pose is yet still quirky. She is vibrant here hair eyes and lip stick stand out like a
swore thumb. Although this imagine is different from her other starring
editions. She still the central imagine. Her fellow bands mates are
push to the back and she still becomes the attention of centre. This
may be because she is well known out the group and could have been
purposely done. This image may now directly be aiming at male and
females. I believe this because in previous features it just her and her
pose seems to be unisex..

But in this edition there are males members in the background which can appeal the female readers.
Where as Hayley can appeal to the male. But it can also been seen that the female readers may
aspire to be like Hayley like wise males may aspire to be like Jeremy Davis, and Taylor York.
Dave has an anchoring text and say “I was going to crack him with m guitar”. This bring less
attention on Hayley and more till the guys of the group. He looks laid back and calm. but the text
represent a different side of Dave. A very controversy side the imagine her opposes
