Paisans are what the Italians call their fellow countrymen and friends. It's a very fitting name for us. You see, ever since opening our doors in 1950, that's the way we've held our customers, as friends. If this is your first time dining with us, welcome. If you're one whose friendships we've kept throughout the years, your Porta salad will be with you shortly. To both new and old friends alike, as your waitstaff readies your beverages, let us entertain you with a brief journey through Paisan’s past.

Paisan’s started as a little pizza joint on Park Street with lines out the door and around the block. Since then, we’ve had four more locations, even moving in with our sister, Porta Bella, for a few years in the 70’s. Growing with every move, we are proud to now be a Madison icon with a beautiful view of Lake Monona and the ability to seat 450 friends on any given night. That line that used to be out the door can now, instead, enjoy a drink while they wait in our very own bar with eight local brews on draft.

If you’re wondering what to choose from our plethora of options in this menu, take it from a friend, our award winning pizza can’t be beat. We take pride in every gourmet, fully loaded, thin crust pizza we create.

Not in the pizza mood? Another mouth-watering favorite is the Garibaldi sandwich, a 1957 Paisan’s original. Named after the Italian general Giuseppe Garibaldi, this sandwich is indeed revolutionary. But honestly, no matter what you choose for your main course, a dinner can’t go wrong if it starts with our perfect Porta salad.
