Why you need different types of Paints

Different Paints have different functionalities. Each paint has it’s own individual

specialty.

Some Paints are used to smoothen the wall textures, these are known as primers.

Primers assures paint longevity.

Enamel Paints are used in textures, subjected to heavy wears. Best used for

Exterior Wall Paintings.

Interior Paints specializes in painting the interiors of your house. Places like your

bed room, kitchen & bathroom. Emulsions are best uses of interior paints.

Exterior paints specializes in painting the exterior walls of your house. Walls that

are more exposed & subjected to nature, wear & tear.

Oil Paints are popular for glossy woodwork, doors, and furniture, as well as

demanding surfaces such as floors.

Acrylic Paints

• Acrylic Paints are perfect finishes for hard use areas like kitchens, bathrooms and children's rooms. • It is used for Interior & Exterior Wall Painting, newly plastered wall, newly constructed brick walls & primed metal surfaces amongst others. • If used in concrete or cement surfaces, than the surface should be should be free from loose sand, mortar splashes and efflorescence. •If used in wood , the surface should be rubbed down and all knots and Resin Pockets treated with two thin coats of Berger Knotting Varnish. • If used in a previously painted oil surface , then one must ensure that the surface is clean of all dirt, dust & other particles.

Interior Wall Paints/ Painting

• Interior Wall Paints are used for rooms like kitchen, living rooms, bed rooms, Children rooms & bathrooms. • Before painting the interior walls of your house one has to Check surface for dampness or water seepage before wall painting. •Remove any loose plaster from the wall. Fill in cracks. •Use a primer on the surface since it allows the paint to be used to stick to the surface, thereby increasing the longevity of the paint & painting job. • Check the paint, that best suits the mood & ambience of your room. • Exterior Wall Paints are used to paint the exterior ‘s of any surface that is subjected to heavy wear & tear. . • For exterior surfaces it is very important to undertake repairs of any wall imperfections before commencing on the painting. The most common problem with exterior wall painting especially in old constructions is cracks in the wall. Fill up cracks with a 1:3 cement and sand mixture. •Newly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 35 to 45 days before wall painting. •Use a primer on the surface since it allows the paint to be used to stick to the surface, thereby increasing the longevity of the paint & painting job. • Exterior Paints are not only used on concrete surfaces such as walls. They can also be used on wooden surfaces such as doors. • Enamel Paints are best uses for interior wall painting, since they are used to heavy wear & tear.

Oil Paints

• Oil Paints are popular for glossy woodwork, doors, and furniture, as well as demanding surfaces such as floors. • Oil Paints take much longer than water-based products to dry & gives off an odour, till they dry. Hence one has to ensure that the place that the room or area being painted is airy or well ventilated. • Should the Oil Paint be used in concrete surfaces , then the surfaces should thoroughly dry in depth and free from loose sand efflorescence . • For previously painted surfaces, the surface should be thoroughly clean and all loose material removed. • Oil Paints Covers more area thoroughly in one coat.
