How we define the V2/V3/V4

First Platinum/Neo is most featured product.– We launched every segment with first version– Then we revision for cost down design or lite version.– These revision will be named as V2/V3/V4

Revision should be follow segment level– If the product revision with different chipset, such as 946GZ/ 945

GC, or nForce560/nForce520, then we will put higher segment to be in front of the lower segment. Not follow with the chipset numbers.

– For example: nForce560 will be K9N Neo V2, nForce520 will be K9N Neo V3; 946GZ naming will be in front of 945GC, etc.

Easy to understand the version and chipset cost connection.

AM2+ Naming Initial Option

I recommend this: Use initial “K9P”– K9PN Diamond, K9PA Platinum, K9PNGM– Good for naming rule, but will longer then old K9 naming.

Use initial K9xx with “+” at first name final.– K9N+ Diamond, K9A+ Platinum, K9AGM4+– Easy to understand, but not a specific initial.

A2/A3, M2/M3 is not that suitable.– K9 title is best for MSI naming series history.

Will use K10 for real AM3 “K10” solution.
