Founded over 200 years ago, Laurent-Perrier is one of the most distinguished, family-owned Champagne Houses. Based right in the heart of the Champagne region, Laurent-Perrier has a pedigree for innovation, handcrafting elegant champagnes using traditional, time-honoured methods. The House was acquired by the Nonancourt family in 1949 and for 50 years Bernard de Nonancourt dedicated his life to innovating and perfecting Laurent-Perrier Champagne. There are seven champagnes in the award-winning Laurent-Perrier range, from the iconic Cuvée Rosé to the luxurious Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier. The champagnes make great apéritifs and are also a superb accompaniment to food. As a recognition of quality and environmental responsibility, Laurent-Perrier was awarded the Royal Warrant of HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998 and has proudly carried it ever since. Laurent-Perrier is the only champagne house to bear his Warrant. Laurent-Perrier are proud to be a part of this year’s Oxfordshire Restaurant Guide. Browns achieved ‘Oxford institution’ status many years ago. Located conveniently in the centre of Oxford, but just far enough away from the busiest shopping streets to give it a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, the restaurant attracts a wide range of customers from families to businessmen, students to tourists. In the summer tables spill out onto the pavement emphasising the French brassiere feel, while in the colder winter months the restaurant always looks friendly, warm and enticing.

The menu is broad offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with a la carte appetizers and starters through to fish and meat courses, and dangerously tempting desserts. This wealth of choice includes the timeless Browns classics such as Steak Mushroom & Guinness Pie, the healthy House Salad with a choice of toppings or everyone’s favourite, Fish & Chips! The Browns twist on the Eton Mess and the chef’s daily specials including Fish of the Day keep the menu fresh and interesting.

A wide range of cocktails, beers and wines complement all occasions and tastes.

The 400 year old The Chequers at Burcot standing just off the A415 about 5miles south of Oxford has come a long way since multi-award-winning chef Steven Sanderson first took the reins in 2006. Steve’s cooking is intelligent, straight forward and elegant, with simplicity, flavour and skill at the top of his agenda. His ability to create home comfort and nostalgic food with a modern twist is evident throughout the ever evolving menu.

Steven values seasonal produce, and he puts emphasis on small, family run, local farms, and tries to get produce from as close to source as possible. “We take a lot of time and care in choosing who supplies produce to The Chequers. As a company we aim to be as environmentally friendly as we can and this in turn is a demand we make of suppliers.”

The focus at The Chequers is on great food and customer service to make your visit a memorable one and to exceed customers’ expectations every step of the way. Booking is always recommended.

The Oxford Kitchen is the new boy in town, but they decided when they opened not to arrive with a fanfare, instead opting to let their food do the talking; since then business has steadily grown as word spreads that there are talented creative young British chefs working in Summertown! The restaurant is beautifully presented with steel and wood fittings, an exposed brick wall, a number of intimate booths, and pop-art decoration, all contributing to a contemporary chic atmosphere in which it’s hard not to lean back and forget the day job. Relaxed fine dining is what The Oxford Kitchen delivers from morning through to night. There are no airs or graces here, but there is a confidence that what they are offering is what the town wants - somewhere to go as a family for lunch and where you don’t have to dress up for dinner, but with a menu and quality that will suit, and impress, everyone.

Alberto and his team at La Cucina bring a true taste of Italy to Oxford. From the open kitchen in summer months you could enjoy specials such as black linguine and spicy crab sauce to lobster and courgette ravioli. During winter you’ll see specials like “osso bucco,” pigs trotter and lentils or venison “tagliata” and polenta to name a few.

The La Cucina shelves are plentiful with the finest Italian deli products: Gluten free pasta, balsamic onions, mustard fruits and Italian cheeses etc. can be bought from the kitchen.

Many local La Cucina followers drop in for an espresso one day, an aperitivo e assaggi the next, then arrange a family birthday treat on another. Whatever the occasion, La Cucina really is a home from home. Some people like the food so much they utilise the outside catering team and delivery service too! LA CUCINA a casa tua… leave it to them to make all arrangements - office parties, family gatherings at home, any occasion.

When we opened Pierre Victoire in 1996 we wanted to create somewhere for people to enjoy authentically cooked, traditional dishes in an informal environment at reasonable prices, the way the French do… Eighteen years on, and we’re still doing just that – and we’re busier than ever!

Our team of chefs have earned high praise for their signature dishes such as Duck Confit, escargot, moules-frites, tartiflette and fondue savoyarde. And the restaurant itself is certainly informal with its rustic furniture and candles, but our customers love it, and most are regulars.

Eat from £7.90 at lunch time, or in the evening choose from either our a la carte menu or one of our prix fixe menus, such as three courses for £23.50 or our pre-theatre menu which offers two courses plus coffee for £11.50. For groups and parties of up to 60, for any celebration, we offer a three course party menu from £23.50.

Oxford boasts the best in country pub dining with an emphasis on top quality food served in a stunning city location. The team at The Red Lion have transformed it into a premium dining experience, giving the pub a stylish, modern feel whilst promising to keep its traditional roots alive. It’s obvious they have put a lot of thought into every facet of this pub, from the food and the surroundings to the welcome from the team. Its menu changes with the seasons and is modern British, comfortably interwoven with elements from the Mediterranean, ranging from traditional favourites such as fish and chips and steaks to freshly made pizzas and pastas and daily chef specials.

The General Eliott (or GE), an established pub for over 200 years, takes its name from the late Sir George Augustus Eliott (1717- 1790) who was knighted after his seize of Gibraltar.

Sitting at the end of the Devils Backbone, in the beautiful village of South Hinksey and overlooking the Oxford Spires the GE re-opened after 6 years, offers a good old fashioned pub ambience and has made a fantastic name for itself serving highly recommended pub food within a family friendly atmosphere. (Dogs more than welcome).

The Cafe at Burford Garden Company is light and airy and set in a beautiful greenhouse with gorgeous plants. The fine servery, inspired by French patisseries has a range of tempting dishes, from light salads and soups to more substantial dishes.

There is a separate and very alluring cake counter featuring old favourites, chocolate fudge cake for example along with luscious puddings. Everything is handmade by a team of able chefs, led by Hubert Kosmala. Uniquely, Burford boasts its own large kitchen garden and the owners Louise and Nigel johnson rear their own sheep so you can know the provenance of the ingredients! They are passionate foodies and seek to bring the idea of Field to fork to the table! Where possible the cafe works closely with local producers too.

So you will find great breakfasts, delicious lunches and scrummy home made cakes and puddings to tempt your hungry tastebuds. Oh and the coffee is wonderful too.

The Rose is a small restaurant and tea room on High Street in Oxford which serves first class, freshly prepared food. From our breakfasts to our afternoon teas, we take great care in choosing the best ingredients available and preparing our food from scratch. Our afternoon tea menu, with fresh scones and loose leaf teas, makes for the perfect break for a busy day about town. Though several of our lunch dishes feature on our menu throughout the year, we pride ourselves on our menu of specials which we change several times a week. In general, we try to make use of seasonal produce, simply because it tastes better. Asparagus flown in from Peru do not compare to a freshly cut English spear, even if the latter is only available for a few months of the year.

The food is accompanied by a wine list carefully selected to complement all dishes and to excite the most developed palate. The newly renovated Fez Garden offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a mint tea or themed cocktail in a warm and relaxing space. Recently awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of excellence, our customers have paid testament to Le Kesh having established itself as ones of Oxford’s most exciting restaurants.
