Supervision, safety and security on campusWhilst in college, students are overseen by the Programme Director (PD), who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The PD is assisted by a team of Junior Deans and Counsellors who very often are current members of the University of Oxford.

The Junior Deans and Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns, talk about Oxford or discuss their class assignments.

Each campus has a few members of residential staff, who live in the college throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.

Both St. Peter’s College and Jowett Walk are secure environments for our students. Access is restricted, with all visitors having to go through the Porter’s Lodge (at St. Peter’s) or a code-locked gate (at Jowett Walk).

For more information on the accommodation for students aged 13-15, please see our website at www.oxford-royale.co.uk/accommodation or contact our Head Office on [email protected].

Accommodation for students aged 13-15

A key element of the Oxford Royale Academy summer school is that all of our programmes are residential in colleges of the University of Oxford. As students live, eat and study in a College every day of their course, they experience life as an undergraduate student at one of the best universities in the world. In addition, these colleges are very close to the centre of Oxford itself, meaning that such inspiring landmarks as the Bodleian Library, the Sheldonian Theatre and the Radcliffe Camera are just a few minutes’ walk away.

Accommodation on our 13-15 courses is provided at two colleges in Oxford – St. Peter’s College and Jowett Walk.

Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns, talk about Oxford and discuss university applications.

Each campus has a few members of residential staff, who live in the college throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.

Students on the 16-18 programme are permitted to leave campus in the afternoons before dinner, and between dinner and curfew time. Students must sign out in groups of at least two, take a working mobile telephone and the ORA emergency number with them, and must return before the agreed time.
