DESCRIPTION
Vijay Athreye, co-founder of the FINISH society, made this presentation at the East Africa workshop on microfinance for sanitation. FINISH stands for Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health. The FINISH project operates as a partnerships of international and local NGOs including WASTE, the Dutch NGO), with microfinance institutions. FINISH promotes tailored financial packages to suit the needs and affordable technologies suitable for local context. As of May 2014, over 300,000 toilets have been constructed in India under the FINISH project. The FINISH society and its partners are looking to replicate the model in other countries, including Kenya.TRANSCRIPT
