World export trade in T&C increased by 3.04% from US $ 608.42 Bn during Jan-Oct 2016 toUS $ 626.91 Bn during Jan-Oct 2017.

Amongst the top ten markets, United States reported the highest growth with growth rate of10.85% during Jan-Oct 2017.

India reported a growth of 6.52% with exports increasing from US$ 29.55 Bn inJan-Oct 2016 to US$ 31.47 Bn in Jan-Oct 2017 followed by Germany and Vietnam withgrowth rate of 12.18% and 9.84% respectively.

China being the largest exporter with US $ 213.24 Bn showed an decline of (-) 0.43% inJan-Oct 2017. Bangladesh, Italy, Turkey, & Spain recorded positive growth.

During the period Jan-Oct 2017, USA is the largest importer of T&C with US $ 93.16 Bn.

China, 4th largest importer have reported a growth of 9.38% during this period Jan-Oct2017.

Vietnam 8th Rank showed a growth of 8.02% during Jan-Oct 2017.

World Import trade in Textiles increased by 5.44% from US $ 218.26 Bn during Jan-Oct 2016to US $ 230.12 Bn during Jan-Oct 2017.

United States the largest importer of textiles has increased by 3.12% from US $ 23.55 Bnduring Jan-Oct 2016 to US $ 24.28 Bn during Jan-Oct 2017.

Bangladesh and Turkey reported highest growth of 11.45% and 14.48% during Jan-Oct 2017.

China 2nd, and Vietnam 3rd reported positive growth of 9.82%, and 6.16% respectively duringthis period.

Germany, Italy, Japan and Indonesia have reported positive growth during this period.

World export trade in clothing increased by 1.98% from US $ 350.01 Bn during Jan-Oct 2016 to US $ 356.94 Bn during Jan-Oct 2017.

Amongst the top ten suppliers, China (largest exporter) reported a decline of (-) 2.72%. Bangladesh (2nd largest exporter) reported a slight growth of 0.97%. Vietnam (3rd largest exporter) reported a growth of 8.07% during Jan-Oct 2017.

Germany being the 5th largest exporter reported highest growth of 19.29% followed by Indiawith growth of 4.83% during this period.

Turkey(7th) and Hong Kong (8th) have declined during Jan-Oct 2017.

Spain (9th largest exporter) reported a growth of 10.67% during Jan-Oct 2017

Overall imports of T&C into USA have reported a growth of 0.38% to a level of US $ 109.90Bn during Jan-Dec 2017.

India remains the third largest supplier of T&C to USA during Jan-Dec 2017, recording agrowth of 3.15% after China and Vietnam. Imports from China reported a decline of (-)1.23% in Jan-Dec 2017, while Vietnam (the second largest supplier) reported a growth of7.08% in Jan-Dec 2017.

Mexico (4th) reported a growth of 5.51% during this period.

Bangladesh (5th) reported a decline of (-) 4.15% during this period.

Indonesia, Honduras and Sri Lanka reported a decline during Jan-Dec 2017.

Global imports of Cotton yarn during Jan-Oct 2017 reached a level of US $ 10.73 Bnincreasing from US $ 10.01 Bn in Jan-Oct 2016, marking a growth of 7.15% in dollar terms,while in volume terms, imports increased during this period from 3387 Mn.Kgs to 3492Mn.Kgs i.e. increase by 3.11%.

Pakistan reported a highest growth of 64.53% during this period.

Hong Kong(3th) declined by (-) 12.04% during Jan-Oct 2017.

Bangladesh, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Russia and Vietnam reported a growth of 3.56%,24.99%, 22.47%, 3.33%, 17.01%, and 15.44% during Jan-Oct 2017.

Global exports of cotton yarn during Jan-Oct 2017 reached a level of US $ 11.29 Bnincreasing from US $ 10.50 Bn in Jan-Oct 2016, marking a growth of 7.60% in dollarterms, while in volume terms, exports has increased slightly during this period from 3577Mn.Kgs to 3591 Mn.Kgs.

India’s exports reached a level of US $ 2.76 Bn (894 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct 2017 increasingfrom US $ 2.55 Bn (914 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct 2016, a growth 8.41% in dollar terms anddecline of (-) 2.20% in quantity terms.

Vietnam reported highest growth of 26.13% in dollar terms and 17.94% in quantity termsduring Jan-Oct 2017 followed by Turkey with growth of 12.77% in dollar terms and 2% inquantity terms during this period.

Hong Kong and Taiwan have declined during the period Jan-Oct 2017.
