What is Anger?

Easton's Bible Definition: The emotion of instant displeasure on account of something evil that

presents itself to our view. In itself it is an original susceptibility of our nature, just as love is, and is not necessarily sinful. It may, however, become sinful when causeless, or excessive, or protracted (Matt 5:22, Col 3:8, Eph 4:26)

Ephesians 4:26-5:226Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil. 28Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with

his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

51Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

Stronghold Mitigation TechniquesBe Assertive

If someone (something) has the potential to make you angry, how can you address the situation early?

Matthew 18:15-1715 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

1 Corinthians 12:24-2724 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together,

having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have

the same care one for another.26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one

member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

When angry, who do you turn to?

Ecclesiastes 4 9-10 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Proverbs 13:20 NIV20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of

fools shall be destroyed.
