A Note of Thanks "The entire Hea family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and concern during our worrisome period for both Mike, Sr. and Mike, Jr. Just as we were sure He would, God heard our prayers and answered them with healing. Mike, Jr. is doing well now and has been released from the doctor. He is walking just fine and so very thankful. Mike, Sr. is also on the mend and his fractured ankle is healing nicely. He struggles with the return of cancer, but we are optimistic; God is in charge and holds us tightly in His mighty hands. It is so comforting to know that our friends care so very much; we hold you all dear to our hearts. Mike and Betty Hea"

Some donations have been made towards this roofing issue and the balance will be taken from the capital fund which was set up for hurricane deductible.
A note about altar flowers… Altar flowers can be taken home following the 11:00 service. If the flowers are still here after the services, we encourage anyone to take them and bring them to a nursing home or to someone in need of a little piece of beauty in

GETTING TO KNOW OUR TEACHERS!
Miss Carisa Meier I was born and raised in Kansas. Growing up as a pastor’s kid meant there would be
some moving around. My family lived in three different towns, all in eastern Kansas. Our first move was when I was three years old, and the second move was in the middle of my 7
th grade
year. I am the middle of three children with an older sister, Cara, and a younger brother, Peter. I had several musical influences in my family. Both of my parents and my grandma sang and played various instruments. I began playing the piano when I was in second grade and I started organ lessons when I was in seventh grade. I played the flute in band from fifth grade through high school. I attended public schools until I went to college, as none of the churches where my dad served had a school. I attended Concordia University Nebraska my freshman year, but grew tired of being surrounded by cornfields and decided I needed a change of scenery. I transferred to Concordia University Chicago the next year. My grandma had attended the same school when it was still known as Concordia Teachers College. I was a double major and earned bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and church music. During my time at Concordia Chicago, I was able to travel with the Kapelle Choir on their international tour. We traveled to Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. After the tour, I was able to travel on my own to Germany to spend time visiting Simmi, the foreign exchange student my family hosted my senior year of high school. I received my first call to Shepherd of the Coast, Fort Lauderdale in 2004. In 2011, I received my Master of Science in Reading from Barry University. I accepted a call to Our Savior in 2012. Since joining the staff at OSLS, I have taught middle school Science and Math, preschool through 1
st grade music, 3
rd grade, and currently 4
th grade.
I enjoy visiting family every chance I get. My parents are now retired and still living in Kansas, but closer to my mom’s parents. My sister and her family, including my sixteen year old niece and twelve year old nephew, recently moved from Oklahoma to the Houston area. My brother is currently in his second year of medical school at KU Med.

Hardcover book $22.49 Many people recognize the name Martin Luther when they think of the Reformation, but this era was filled with other fascinating personalities and dramatic changes across every aspect of human life throughout the Western world. The Reformation is a richly illustrated and engagingly written overview of this amazing time of change and renewal in the Christian Church and helps the reader sort through the complex chain of events that shook both church and state to their very foundations. You’ll want to display this exquisite book on your coffee table, in your church library, or anywhere you can easily flip through this informative and beautiful book.
Call Committee Update Our call committee has been busy with telephone interviews for the last few weeks. They completed them on October 12th. Please keep these pastors and our call committee members in your prayers. We will have an opportunity to view the interviews very soon. Look for more
