OUR REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCHNEWSLETTER
JUNE, 2015
Pastor’s Letter June, 2015PENTECOST
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Yes! We have worship during thesummer months at Our Redeemer! Yes, we are open both on Saturday at5:00 pm and Sunday at 9:30 am. Andwe’ve even made things morecomfortable for you. We have airconditioning!!!
So, the answer is yes! There areworship services during the summer!
Have you ever thought of worship assomething that could and does bringhealing to your lives? There is an oldhymn, “There is a balm in Galead,” And I often feel that worship is ahealing balm for our lives - a timebetween us and our God where Godspeaks to us through the lesson, sermons, hymns and prayers. He issharing with us and a troubled worldthe good news that God loves hispeople no matter what. He sent hisson, Jesus, to us to save us from oursins - our own brokenness. We are a died for people - a forgiven people - and worship is that place, that quiet place away from the worldwere God speaks words of love to usall and how do we need to hear thosewords, and how do we all needhealing.
So my brothers and sisters inChrist, I will be looking foryou all this summer. Yes,even on Saturday/Sundays atworship.
We are open!
See you at worship!
Peace,
Pastor Klose

REMEMBER YOUR CHURCH WHILE YOU ARE ON VACATION!!
Vacation holidays are great!! We all need to get away to relax, rest, and renew our energies andcreativity. Please enjoy your vacation and do all you can to make it safe and refreshing.
Also, remember that the work of the church does not stop because we go on vacation. Your prayersand offerings make our ministry possible. Before you go, please bring your pledge up to date.
And.... then enjoy your time away with the knowledge that the work of the Lord through ourcongregation continues undiminished. You'll be glad you did!!!

DAY CARE NEWS JUNE 2015
In just a week, I will be on vacation with my family. My nephew Connor, who is four and a half,6 has anew baby brother, Breccan. I am so excited tospend time with them. Being so far away from myfamily (my parents and grandma are in westernPennsylvania and the boys are in Ohio) is sodifficult. The children and this busy job are quite adistraction from my homesickness.
We finished April with an Administrative Assistants'Appreciation lunch. I would like to thank the DayCare Secretary, Janine Bowles, for all of her hardwork. I am blessed to work with such a kind andamazing person. The Day Care is lucky to havesomeone so capable! I would also like to thankCindy Solliday for all that she does. She doeseverything, from phones to doors and so muchmore. Thanks for keeping us up and running!
In May we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Day. Iwould like to thank our teachers for all of their hardwork. Our parents can go to work knowing thattheir children are happily learning and playing withother children in a safe setting. The infant roomparents usually have a more difficult separationthan their children. Our staff makes them feelcomfortable so they are able to go to their jobswithout worry.
Mother's Day takes at least a week of preparationas the children make cards and gifts for theirMommy. The mommies appreciate how theteachers capture their tiny hand prints and sweetsmiles. Homemade gifts are the best!
During our May Chapel, Pastor taught us aboutAscension, when Jesus went back to Heaven, andPentecost, the birth of the Church. The childrenwere really paying attention. Pastor asked them tosay, "The Holy Spirit" while he moved his hand tohis forehead. Over half of the class repeated thewords, while touching their foreheads! Too cute!
Sabrina from Seaford Library completed her weeklyvisits with our Pre-K class. The visits make thewinter months so much more fun! The children willbe excited to see her at the Library this summer forthe Summer Reading Program. Dr. Pinto engagedthe students with songs and activities during MusicClass. Yoga with Miss Chris is also a monthlyfavorite. They are eager for the class and like toshow me the poses that they learn. Our Infants are growing in leaps and bounds. Themajority of the class is an older crowd and there islots of movement for the young babies to watch. Dancing is a must, and they will sometimes stopwhatever they are doing just to move to a song! Pre-K and Toddlers are finishing the numbers up toten and are preparing for our Graduation Program. It is a big project, but so worth the work! Thechildren have started to practice the songs andmake the decorations. The theme this year is aFairy Tale one. The magic will take place on June26th.
Warm Regards,Melissa
